Back to School Information!

Monday, 7th September: Years 7 & 11 return to school

Beating the heat at break time!

To say a huge well done to our students for working so hard in this blazing heat, we decided to surprise them all with ice creams at break today! ☀️

The first challenge was actually finding any left on the shop shelves... and the second challenge was trying to take a photo before they were all snaffled up!

So, we don't have a picture of the ice creams, but we do have a picture of the aftermath. Safe to say they went down a treat!

Our Best Ever Result at the MNSP Maths Challenge!

Well the heat certainly did not deter our team of budding mathematicians who represented the school at the MNSP Junior Team Challenge at Norton Hill School today.

Students Harvey, Edward, Sarah and Emily (who stepped in at the last minute), really did the school proud, achieving 3rd place out of 12 schools. This is the best ever result since Mrs Munn has been taking teams to this challenge, so a huge well done to them all!

IMPORTANT SCHOOL UPDATE: CLOSURE & PROM POSTPONEMENT

Following a Red Extreme Heat Warning issued by the Met Office, the MNSP Trust has made the difficult decision to close all their schools on Wednesday & Thursday this week, to ensure the safety of all pupils and staff.

Wednesday 24th June: SCHOOL CLOSED
Thursday 25th June: SCHOOL CLOSED
Friday 26th June: SCHOOL PLANS TO BE OPEN AS NORMAL. However we will continue to monitor the situation and will provide a further update should circumstances change.

Rescheduled Year 10 Exam Timetable
Our exam schedule has been revised as follows. Please ensure your child is aware of these new timings:

Friday 26th June:
Period 1: Design & Technology (DT) and Music Listening
Period 3: Physics

Tuesday 30th June:
Art Exam (All Day)
Music Performance Exam
Catch-up sessions will run for students not involved in Music or Art.

Wednesday 1st July (Cultural & Heritage Day):
Catch-up exams will take place as required throughout the day.

Home Learning
During the closure days on Wednesday and Thursday, work will be set for students by class teachers via Google Classroom. Please encourage your child to complete the tasks set to ensure they do not fall behind.

Duke of Edinburgh - Silver Expedition
The DofE Silver Expedition scheduled for this weekend will no longer be taking place. The safety of our students and the accompanying staff is our absolute priority, and the forecasted conditions mean it is unsafe to proceed. More specific details and next steps will follow shortly for the families affected by this.

Careers Fair
Our Careers Fair, originally scheduled for this Friday, has been postponed. We want this event to be as successful as possible and ensure our students can fully engage with the employers. The Careers Fair will now take place next academic year on Friday 15th October 2026.

'Into the Woods' Drama Rehearsals
For students involved in our upcoming production of Into the Woods:

Wednesday Evening: Rehearsals are CANCELLED.
Saturday Afternoon: Rehearsals WILL go ahead. If students are able to stay an extra hour—until 3:30pm rather than finishing at 2:30pm—it would be greatly appreciated so we can make up for lost time.

Year 11 Prom
Sadly, due to the extreme heat and school closures, the difficult decision has been made to postpone the Year 11 Prom originally scheduled for this Thursday evening. It has been rescheduled to Wednesday 8th July. We are incredibly sorry to have to delay this celebration, but the safety and comfort of our students on their special night is our priority.

Today was all about making memories, treating our Year 11s to some well-earned goodies, and the traditional shirt signing—lots featuring amazing artwork!
