🌩️Due to the uncertainty surrounding the weather tomorrow we have consulted with the most important people (the children).😇

💜They have come to the decision that soggy sandwiches with the midges aren’t what they want to do on their last Friday afternoon and instead they would like a pizza party at nursery.

💚In light of this we are unfortunately cancelling our family picnic at the pencil.
🥳Children will attend nursery 9-3 as normal! 😊

☀️The sun is out!☀️
All children have suncream at nursery however due to the increasing heat could all children please wear a sun hat, suitable clothing and have a back up outfit suitable for the hot weather 💚

As our term winds down we have been spending as much time as we can outdoors. ☀️
🐛One of our friends nurtured and cared for her butterflies through their lifecycle and brought them to nursery for us all to release in our local park. 🦋
We spent a few quiet minutes letting the butterflies go and watching them find resting places before flying off.

🪴We then joined our friend Caroline at the poly tunnel to harvest our potatoes and re-fill the bird feeders. 🐦‍⬛
We can’t wait to make some delicious and nutritious snacks with our harvest 🥔💚

💚We recently held our annual sports day event where the children showcased their gross motor skills and competed in teams to complete relay races, obstacle courses, flat races and wheel barrow races. 🏅

I think we can all agree it was a lovely afternoon, the sun was shining and the children were fantastic! They waited patiently, took their turn and cheered on their friends with huge enthusiam☀️

🟢SPORTS DAY🟢

Sports day will take place today at 1pm. All parents/ carers should make their way to the grass strip at the other end of the Tennis courts.

We will bring the children across and sports day will commence.

Please ensure that all children have an adult attending for them as nursery will be dismissed from sports day. 💜💚

🟢Douglas park nursery have been working hard behind the scenes to complete the appropriate paper work for a community asset transfer of our building.
💜The nursery has been established in the town for over 50 years and we are trying to ensure that this continues for a long time to come with the security of owning the building.

💚As part of this process we have to ask our local communities support by completing the survey linked below.

It would mean a lot if current and previous parents/ carers would complete this aswell as members of our local community.

As we finished up for the end of term we had lots of fun taking part in Easter crafts. The children all decorated their own Easter bonnet, we baked cakes, created beautiful spring and Easter pictures and finished the term with an Easter egg hunt and party where we danced the day away 🥳🕺🏼

🐻" We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one!"

🌧The rain didn't stop our bear hunt this morning. We put on our waterproofs and welly boots and we headed out to search for bears.

🌪We crossed treacherous terrain looking in long wavy grass, thicky oozy mud and a big dark forest for our hidden bears. ❄️
Once we had found all of the bears we tip toed back to nursery sneaking past the narrow gloomy cave to sit down to our bear themed snack. 🐻
