Behind the scenes of a product shoot. Beth, our multimedia producer, has shared her top tips for photographing your candles. Save this for your next shoot!
1. Lighting is everything, but "professional" doesn't mean studio-grade. Natural light works incredibly well, so use what you've got.
2. Watch out for glass reflections. Candle jars love to glare back at you, play with your camera height and angle until the reflection disappears.
3. Style with the scent in mind. Pick props that echo the fragrance and help tell its story. The goal is a photo customers can practically smell.
4. Less is more. Two or three complementary textures (linen, wood, ceramic) are plenty, let the candle stay the hero.
5. Clean your lens. Phone or camera, it's the easiest free upgrade to every shot you take.
