Once again we were totally overwhelmed by the dedication and talent of our students. The standard of entries for our Great Huish International Bake Off was out of this world (!)
It was a really tough decision and a close call between our finalists, but Chloe from Merchant was crowned Star Baker for her amazing suitcase that not only looked spectacular, it also tasted delicious and included 2 different sponges! Chloe's showstopper made us dream of a normal world again, where travelling can happen...
Thank you to all our bakers for taking part.

Je fais des crêpes en filmant avec mon téléphone portable.

(I make crêpes while filming with my mobile phone) - this is advanced language: it's called the present participle. En + verb ending in ANT = while doing

Anyway, grammar aside, is anyone taking part in our Chandeleur challenge on Google Classroom?

What a term it's been! We wanted to finish on a positive and happy note so last week, some of Madame Ashton's and Mrs Gould-Haines's classes wrote Christmas cards for care homes in France & Canada. We hope they will provide their residents and staff a bit of joy in these difficult times. They certainly put smiles on our faces ready 🥰
🎅🎄Joyeux Noël tout le monde! (Merry Christmas everyone!)🎄🎅

Have you tried GCSE Pod yet? It's really amazing and all Huish students (should) have an account, just follow the instructions after clicking on "Login".
It's fab to revise tenses, grammar and even vocabulary in topics in all 3 languages.

Friday 13th is the deadline to register your interest for the Year 8 Normandy trip in May 2020. There were a few hiccups with the Google link & Wisepay at the start but hopefully everyone received another email. Alternatively Madame Ashton has a few spare paper copies of the necessary forms in her room (M3).
This is a great opportunity to go on an exciting Tour of Normandy, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
The trip will depart on Thursday 7th May 2020 and return on Monday 10th May 2020. We will visit the D-Day landing beaches and other WW2-related places as it will be particularly relevant and poignant. Whilst the war did not end with the D-Day landing, it paved the way to the start of peace, finally achieved on 8th May 1945.
The cost of the trip is £420 per pupil , and is fully inclusive. We have a planned extensive programme of excursions including visits to Pegasus Bridge War Memorial, Juno Beach Canadian centre, Arromanches 360, Bayeux Tapestry, bread making at a Boulangerie, Mont Saint Michel, food tasting workshops, etc…
