We're so grateful to all the volunteers who took the time to look after our Farm over the summer holidays and loved receiving your photos!

As well as cleaning, feeding and loving our animals, we've had help to strim nettles; clear whole paddocks of weeds; water the allotment; fix fencing....even giving the sheep a vital vaccine!

We really can't run our wonderful Farm without help, so it's very much appreciated!

We're looking forward to seeing the return of children on Friday - enjoy your last few days of the summer. 🥰

We did it! 🥈 🙌🏻

We are incredibly proud to announce that we have officially achieved LEAF Demonstration School 'Silver' status!

This is a massive achievement. LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) awards this status to a very select group of schools that show true excellence in bringing farming, food production, and sustainability to life. We are one of a handful of primary schools in the UK and the first in the South West to earn this distinction!

From weekly farm enrichment and forest school adventures; to growing fresh food in our allotment/no-dig beds and looking after Polly and friends, our children prove every day how much they care about our planet. 🌍

A huge thank you to Lisa from LEAF for her support but also to our incredible staff, our hard-working pupils and our supportive Sir Robert Geffery's School and Community Farm family for making this possible. Your time, commitment, and love for our Farm have shone through! 💚💛

We celebrated our final Farm to Fork Club earlier this week, with delicious homemade potato salad and microwave crisps! 🙌🏻🥔

Over the past few weeks, the children have thoroughly enjoyed learning all about seasonal and sustainable eating. It has been a joy to work with such an enthusiastic group, who have embraced every activity with curiosity and excitement.

Along the way, they've mastered simple recipes including pancakes, flatbreads and homemade butter, as well as developing basic allotment skills. We hope they've been inspired to keep growing, cooking and exploring healthy, sustainable food - and perhaps become expert gardeners of the future! 💚

Thanks to the incredible generosity of several local sponsors, we have recently been able to completely reline and refill our play sandpit.

We would like to extend a massive thank you to our amazing donors who made this project possible:

Their generous grant donations allowed us to purchase all the resources needed to bring this brilliant play space back to life for our children to enjoy.

Buying the sand was one thing, but getting 2 tonnes of it down to the farm was another challenge entirely!

Demonstrating our fantastic school teamwork, children from across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 joined forces to tackle the job. The children formed a massive human chain, filling up beach buckets and passing them down the line with incredible enthusiasm.

The new sandpit looks fantastic now that we've been able to finish it off with new toys and diggers, and is ready for plenty of creative play. A huge well done to all of our hard-working children, and another heartfelt thank you to our wonderful community sponsors for investing in our outdoor spaces!

Reception enjoyed a visit to the no-dig beds yesterday afternoon to do some watering and taste a few fresh peas! 🫛

They even did a quick bit of maths when looking at the sweetcorn plants, talking about which was the tallest!

Of course they shared some greenery with Lenny too, who loved the attention!

With only a few children staying for Farm to Fork club tonight, we whipped up a batch of mini pancakes and served them with the jam made from last week's strawberry and blackcurrant picking!

What a delicious treat, made even better by using local produce and topping with our very own Farm jam.🍓🫐
