SRWA Performing Arts Tour 2025 - Well, another tour has come to a close, the students all arrived safely back home early Saturday morning (if a little soggy after unloading the coach in a heavy downpour when we got back!).

They have all been such wonderful ambassadors, embracing the chances to develop connections between ourselves and the young people of Waldkirch, showing there is so much that unites us.

Every single student rose to the challenge of performing in unfamiliar venues and getting involved in all of the activities that our German hosts had organised for us, from a trip to a medieval castle and exploring a mine to meeting with students from a local secondary school and everything in between.

Our audiences also really appreciated that we had learnt a song in German, ‘Auf Uns’, which we sang at every venue.

These are just some snippets of the wonderful dance, drama, steel band and choir performances from the week! We hope you have a wonderful summer holiday!

SRWA Performing Arts Tour 2025 - WOW!! What a day we had yesterday!! We started the day meeting students at a nearby school, going to lessons and finding out about school life in Germany. After a performance outside for the students, we were treated to a lovely buffet lunch, prepared for us by the home economics students and teachers.

In the afternoon, the students either went on a treetop walk with a toboggan slide at the end, or visited Waldkirch Zoo and played mini golf.

Our final performance of this tour was at the Stradtrainsee restaurant by the lake. All of the audience really enjoyed the energy and joy the students showed in their performances.

Today, the students are all very excited for EuropaPark before we begin the drive home!

SRWA Performing Arts Tour 2025 - Day Three

Today, we ventured to Freiburg and got to experience a German farmers market! After exploring the great variety of stalls, we headed to the mountains to have a tour of a mine, finding out what life was like in the mine and how they worked.
Then it was back to Freiburg for more exploring and dinner in a lovely restaurant, before returning to the hotel for our tour awards.

Tomorrow, we have more performances and fun planned so keep an eye out for our updates!!

SRWA Performing Arts Tour 2025 - Day two has seen the students climb a mountain and have a talk about medieval battles as well as getting to try on some of the suits of armour. Then it was off to the swimming pool for a swim before giving our first performance, with dance, drama, steel band and choir all performing with such energy. Dinner was at a lovely restaurant by the lake before heading to St Margaret’s Church for a wonderful choir concert. Fantastic performances from all students in both our performances today and such great feedback from our audiences!

All arrived safe and well to our hotel in Germany. Had a wonderful meal with our German hosts and now for some sleep!
