NLS took part in the Lancing and Shoreham schools’ Year 5&6 mixed rounders tournament this afternoon. After a shaky opening match, where we lost some early outs and made some mistakes in the field, we grew in confidence in the second match winning comfortably. The third match was tight and saw the team win by half a rounder. Our final match was our best all round performance, with rounders being smashed almost every other ball and some excellent fielding meant that we took several wickets on our way to a commanding victory.

When the results were announced, we expected to finish 2nd (thinking that we had lost our opening match) but it turns out that we drew that match and finished as tournament winners for the second year running.

Well done to all of the team involved and thanks to Mrs Fox and Mr M for preparing and picking the team - you did a brilliant job!

Year 6 spent a lesson learning about Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama

Yayoi is a renowned artist who specialises in using polka dots in her artworks of pumpkins and mushrooms.

The children had the chance to create their own pumpkin in her style.

🪂Parachute with Year 6 🪂

This week, Year 6 had a unique PSHE lesson where they re-lived their younger primary experiences of using the parachute. It was lovely to see these children giggling and choosing to sing nursery rhymes such as The Wheels on the Bus!

Every child had the chance to go in the middle - including all of the year 6 staff!

Tattoo the Teacher – Minibus Fundraiser 🚍 https://www.zeffy.com/en-GB/ticketing/tattoo-the-teacher-8
On Thursday 9th July, we’re holding a fun “Tattoo the Teacher” fundraiser to help raise money for our new school minibus!
At the start of the morning, each class will have the opportunity to choose and purchase temporary tattoos. Children can then decide which teacher they would like to “tattoo” by placing their chosen tattoo into that teacher’s collection pot.
Once everyone has chosen, our teachers will proudly wear their tattoos throughout the day!

Tattoo Prices
Small tattoos – 50p Large tattoos – £1
Children can buy as many tattoos as they wish and can choose to tattoo one teacher or several teachers.

How to Pay
Cash on the day, or Purchase tattoos online in advance.
If paying online and your child attends North Lancing, please include: Your child’s full name, Their class, The number of tattoos being purchased.
If purchasing as a family member or friend please include the teachers name you want the tattoos to go to.
If you just want to donate and sponsor our teachers for taking part please go to the donation page at the bottom.
