On Tuesday 19 November the Senior Scholars were very fortunate indeed to hear Mustafa Gunes OL speak on his highly successful academic pathway from the Upper Sixth at Lancing. He secured a First in PPE at Warwick and is now working on a Master’s in Economics & Strategy for Business at Imperial College London, with long term political ambitions. His inspiring advice to the students on how best to make use of their time in the Sixth Form and at university was just what they needed as they now approach the demands of university entrance. In particular, his generosity in giving so much time to answering questions was hugely valued.

Very exciting that two OLs, Kitty Casey (Soprano) and James Edgeler (Tenor), have been shortlisted as Finalists in the 2023 Sussex Young Musician Competition.

The final takes place at 7pm on 15 July 2023 at Perrymount Methodist Church in Haywards Heath.

70 years ago, at the Queen’s Coronation in 1953, three OLs came together with 395 other voices in Westminster Abbey. Michael Windross, (St Paul’s Cathedral) Christopher Opstad (Westminster Abbey) and Chris Brooker (St George’s Chapel), all unknown to each other at the time, joined together in doing their best for Queen and country - little realising that they’d meet again in the choir stalls of the College Chapel some five years later.

They all attended Lancing in the late 50s/early 60s.

Are you currently an OL at university, either in your first or second year? Would you like to come and talk to our Sixth Form pupils to help them make informed choices about their university destination?

We are organising our fifth University Ambassadors event on Tuesday 20 June 2023 at the College.

I am particularly keen to find students at the following universities:

You would provide advice and tips applying for your university choices (UCAS/international options) and on settling into university life (clubs, societies, nightlife, your university’s city/town etc.). Our University Ambassadors are students at popular university destinations and are friendly, approachable and happy to answer questions that pupils may have.
