We’re excited to be taking part in the BookBuzz programme, which gives every student in Years 7 and 8 the opportunity to choose a book completely free of charge to keep!

BookTrust research shows that children’s enjoyment of reading can decline through the school years. BookBuzz aims to help tackle this by giving students the chance to choose and keep a book they’ll love.
Students in Years 7 and 8 can choose from 16 diverse and inclusive titles, covering a range of genres, interests, stories and adventures. Each title has been handpicked by BookTrust’s expert panel of teachers and librarians, so there’s something for everyone! Students will find out more about the 16 titles during their Reading for Pleasure lessons this week, where they can explore the different books and decide which one they would like to choose.

Students will receive their BookBuzz order slip during their RFP lesson. They should complete the slip with their chosen book and return it to their RFP teacher by Friday 9th October.

All 16 books are available in our school library, so students can pop in and have a look before making their decision. They can read the blurb and/or the first few pages to help them decide which book is right for them. Please encourage your child to take some time to explore the books if they are unsure which one to choose.

We’ve also attached information about each of the 16 books to this post, so you can look through the choices together at home.

We’re really looking forward to seeing which books our students choose!
