Manica Road from my 'Cool Friction' album, takes its name from a street in what was then Salisbury, Rhodesia. It was the road where my sister Shirley and I spent our Saturday mornings waiting for my brother to finish his shift at the railways. The routine never changed. Pocket money from the Mom, a quick sort through the comics we wanted to swap, then into town with my dad. First stop was the comic shop, where for five pence we could exchange twenty comics.
From there we went straight to the butcher for a long stick of biltong each. Then on to Manica Road itself, busy, noisy, full of traffic and heat. But halfway along stood the Manica Road Café, the real destination. We ordered our Brown Cows (Coca‑Cola with a lump of vanilla ice cream), and settled in for two perfect hours. Comics spread out, biltong in hand, Brown Cows slowly disappearing.

A Warm Day in Maputo - Intro
These daily video clips are going to be taken from my own tunes. Most of them are scored in TAB and notation, should an aspiring guitar player want to learn to play any of them.
This vid is the intro to my tune, 'A Warn Day in Maputo'. I composed this tune sitting on my friend's veranda in Maputo, Mozambique, trying to get a cool breeze from somewhere, anywhere, the humidity so thick and heavy you could cut it with a knife.
