It's Tuesday and I wanted to share some provisional 'destination data' for the 14 T Level Health Students from Lancaster & Morecambe College who received their results last week. Here is an early indication of their next steps:

4 - Midwifery Degree
2 - Adult Nursing Degree
1 - Mental Health Nurse Degree
1 - Paramedic Science Degree
4 - Employed as CSWs at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust
1 - Gap Year followed by Children's Nurse Degree
1 - Gap Year whilst working on CSW Bank

We are truly building our and I am enormously proud of these students and the support we have given them.

It's and meeting with Anna on Friday made me realise why previously working within education and now within the UHMBT Careers & Apprenticeships Team can be so rewarding. I taught Anna when she was at Primary School, around 15-years ago. She is now about to join University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust for a 2-month 'Flexi-Placement' under the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme, that she undertaking with Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. In a year's time, Anna will be seeking managerial roles within the NHS and hopefully she will enjoy her experience with our Trust. On a different note, Anna scored what is probably the best goal I have ever witnessed in Primary School football. She smashed a volley from the half-way line in the final of the district tournament to draw our Great Wood team level against Slyne-with-Hest... we went on to win the final 2-1. We both still remember that match and goal fondly 🎉⚽

It is results day and I would like to extend best wishes to all Level 3 learners receiving their results today, whether that be A' Levels, T Levels or BTechs. However, I would especially like to wish the very best of luck to the SIXTY-FOUR Year 2 learners we have hosted from Lancaster & Morecambe College, Kendal College and Furness College. It has been a pleasure providing you with 315+ hours of Industry Based Placement and we wish you all the very best of luck in your future endeavours. Please do stay in touch and we hope to see you in the Wards, Departments and corridors of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust again very soon.

In 2021-22, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust began hosting students. Some of that initial cohort of 18 students, who completed their course in 2023, are now graduating from University. I am delighted to share that I know of at least two who have secured Registered Nurse roles, one with our Trust. This is the that were seeking and proof that build our . Congratulations to Tilly and Aleasha.
