CALLING ALL LANGUAGE TEACHERS IN THE LANCASTER/MORECAMBE AREA ...
Here's a notice from Anne Margaret Smith about a wonderful event coming up in October.
I don't know if you are aware of the Unity event that is being organised by Stand Up to Racism and other organisations (trade unions, faith groups, social and community organisations...).
https://standuptoracism.org.uk/events/?an_event=70eac910-8def-4db1-a875-2955b111b16e

The idea is to have a parade along Morecambe prom, celebrating the diversity in our area, and then have an indoor event at a venue yet to be decided, where there would be stalls, food, music etc

I'm just wondering if there is something we could contribute as language teachers. Maybe make a group within the parade, with linguistically diverse banners, and encourage some of our students to join us? Maybe have a stall or activities at the event to encourage language learning ('Find someone who...') ?

What are your thoughts? There is an organising meeting next week (Wednesday 30th, 7.00 pm at Good Things on Northumberland Street, Morecambe). I am going to go, and happy to take any suggestions or ideas that you have.

If you are interested, please contact Anne Margaret by email:
