Good afternoon everyone,
Another year has flown by, and somehow we've reached that bittersweet time again where we wave goodbye to our little graduates as they head off to Big School π
It feels like only yesterday they walked through our doorsβsome full of confidence, some a little nervous, and some determined to make a dramatic entrance by crying louder than we thought humanly possible! π’ Now, look at them. They've grown in confidence, made friendships, learned new skills, discovered who they are, and are more than ready for their next adventure π
This year, like every year, has given us plenty of memories.
We've had our shining moments, where everything ran like clockwork, the children were engaged, the paint stayed on the paper, and we all felt like we'd completely mastered this childcare thing β¨
We've also had our... let's call them "questionable moments." The days when glitter somehow ended up in places glitter should never be. The mystery of who flushed the entire toilet roll down the loo πThe debates over whether worms belong in pocketsπͺ± And of course, the daily negotiations with tiny people who are absolutely convinced they don't need a coat because "I'm not cold!" π₯Ά
Then there are the moments when we're tired, when the days feel long, when someone has cried before 9 a.m.βsometimes one of the children, sometimes one of usβand we need that little reminder of why we're here π«
That reminder usually comes in the form of a child proudly writing their name for the first time. A cuddle from someone who just needs to know they're safe. A belly laugh that spreads across the room. Or hearing a child say, "I did it!" with the biggest smile you've ever seen π€©
Those are the moments that make every busy day worthwhile.
To our wonderful parents and families, thank you.
Thank you for trusting us with your most precious people β€οΈ We know how difficult it is to hand over your child each morning, especially in those early days. Thank you for allowing us to be part of their journey, for supporting us, laughing with us, working alongside us, and for trusting us to care for your children as they took some of their very first steps towards independence.πͺ
And to our graduates...
We are so incredibly proud of every single one of you. Keep asking questions, keep being curious, keep being kind, keep believing in yourselves, and never lose that wonderful sense of adventure. We can't wait to hear all about the amazing things you'll do at Big School π
Finally, I want to say a huge thank you to my incredible team.
Childcare isn't always easy. Some days are wonderful. Some days are chaotic. Some days we've had enough coffee to conquer the world, and other days we're surviving on cold tea and sheer determination πͺ
But every single day, Becky, Donna, Shona, Angie and Kate you show up.
Some days we bring our best selves, and some days we simply bring ourselvesβand that's enough π₯°
I couldn't ask for a better team, and I'm incredibly grateful for everything you do, often without anyone seeing just how much goes on behind the scenes.
So here's to another fantastic year, to our amazing children, our supportive families, and our wonderful staff π
To our little graduates, spread your wings, be brave, be kind, dream big, and rememberβyou'll always have a special place here with us πππͺ
Congratulations, Class of 2026. We couldn't be prouder. π
Thank you.
