Everything you need to know about the Roses sailing fixture this weekend!

We have a lot to look forward to in the first half of this term. Especially Roses which is coming up this weekend! Keep an eye out for more details soon to come. 🌹

This week our third fundraising challenge was undertaken by our Vice Commodore Beth Daines! She summited Scafell Pike which was no mean feat in the insane weather and wind conditions. A huge congrats to her 🏔️

Our second fundraising challenge of this term was undertaken by one of our exec, Harry Bailey! He ran a 5K around campus in kit which was no easy task in the hot weather we’ve been having.

We are now 16% of the way to our goal which will enable us to get more people on the water every year and make every sail an unforgettable one.

Last weekend, Lancaster Red went to the BUCS Playoffs at . A huge thank you to Bronte and her mum for hosting us! Despite light wind conditions, we had some good races, securing several wins as a team.

Four of our members took on Bolton for our first fundraising challenge! They braved the winter water to raise funds for new equipment and get more of our members on the water every year!

Congratulations to all of our ladies who went to Oxford for the BUSA Women’s Team Racing National Championships last weekend! They had a great weekend sailing, avoiding capsizing, socialising, and enjoying a formal dinner!

Next week on Wednesday 11th March we will be hosting our annual Hustings when we elect new executive committee members as the current exec’s term comes to and end. All of the roles in this post will be available to run for on the day and anyone who is a member of the club can run. If you are interested in running you will need to come prepared on the day with a few words about why you are the best fit for the role.

This weekend 6 of our sailors are headed to Oxford to compete in Women’s BUCS. The boats are as follows:
