Ddydd Mawrth, 29 Hydref, bydd yr awdur a'r myfyriwr doethurol, Olatunji Offeyi (Tunji), yn archwilio ysgrifennu creadigol a threftadaeth mewn digwyddiad a gynhelir ar gampws y Brifysgol yn Llambed ac ar-lein.

Mae’r gweithdy Treftadaeth Ysgrifennu yn un o’r digwyddiadau a gynhelir gan Undeb Myfyrwyr PCYDDS i ddathlu Mis Hanes Pobl Dduon.

Rhobyn Grant, Llywydd Campws Llambed, sy’n arwain gweithgareddau Mis Hanes Pobl Dduon yn Undeb Myfyrwyr PCYDDS. Y thema eleni yw Adennill Naratifau, sy’n ymwneud â chymryd rheolaeth o’r straeon sydd bwysicaf a dathlu’r lleisiau sy’n haeddu cael eu clywed.

Dywedodd Rhobyn: "Fe wnaethom hwyluso'r digwyddiad hwn i roi lle i fyfyrwyr archwilio eu treftadaeth eu hunain trwy ysgrifennu. Roeddwn yn bersonol gyffrous i gysylltu â Tunji a'i gael ef i gyflwyno'r gweithdy! Rwy'n meddwl bod ei waith yn graff ac yn ysbrydoledig ac rwy’n credu y gall ein myfyrwyr ddysgu llawer o’i brofiadau.”

Mae Tunji, awdur Heritage Narrative, yn newyddiadurwr o Nigeria a Phrydain, Cymrawd Byd-eang Salzburg, sydd yn ei flwyddyn olaf o raglen ddoethurol yn y Brifysgol. Yn ei lyfr, mae Tunji yn mynd â darllenwyr ar daith, gan gyflwyno straeon myfyrwyr amrywiol Y Drindod Dewi Sant i sut gall deall gwahanol ddiwylliannau ac eraill siapio persbectif ac agor meddyliau unigolion yn gadarnhaol.

The UWTSD Doctorate in Professional Practice residential programme, took place at the picturesque Lampeter campus recently.

This unique programme, primarily delivered online, offers an invaluable in-person residential experience every year. It’s more than just a gathering—it's where brilliant minds meet, ideas ignite, and a vibrant community of researchers takes shape!

Laura James, Programme Manager for the programme said:

“Each year, we hold a Residential for all students on Part 1 of the programme on our Lampeter campus. Feedback from our students is that they embrace this opportunity and leave the residential feeling a sense of belonging and part of an important research community.

"The DProf offers the opportunity for students to apply varying research methods to intergoate their professional practice. Not only does it provide the student with a sought-after qualification but it also assists individuals to improve their own practice”

Nid ffenomen newydd mo ailgylchu. Mae’n ymddangos bod yr arfer o ailddefnyddio darnau o hen gyfrolau i wneud rhai newydd bron mor hen â llyfrau eu hunain. Erbyn y 15fed ganrif, roedd gan rwymwyr llyfrau gyflenwad parod o lawysgrifau treuliedig y gallent eu tynnu’n ddarnau a’u hailddefnyddio. Wedyn roedd cyflwyniad argraffu’n golygu bod llawer o’r llawysgrifau rhatach wedi darfod amdanynt. Yn aml, byddent yn cael eu hailgylchu’n ddeunydd sgrap rhad. Byddai argraffwyr yn defnyddio’r darnau hyn o lawysgrif wastraff tan ymhell i mewn i’r 17eg ganrif. Mae ein casgliadau’n cynnwys mwy na chwe deg o lyfrau sy’n cynnwys darnau o femrwn a ailgylchwyd o lawysgrifau hŷn. Mae gan PCYDDS gopi o deithlyfr Leonhard Rauwolf, Aigentliche beschreibung der Raiss ... (1583), wedi’i rwymo mewn memrwn, a ailgylchwyd o lyfr offeren o ddiwedd y 14eg ganrif. Ar gyfer ein copi o esboniad Denys Lambin ar Horas, mae’r rhwymwr wedi cryfhau cymalau’r llyfr â stribedi o antiffonari o’r 15fed ganrif.

Recycling isn’t a new phenomenon. The practice of reusing parts of old volumes to make new ones seems to be almost as old as books themselves. By the 15th century, bookbinders had a ready supply of worn-out manuscripts they could take apart and reuse. Then the introduction of printing meant that many of the cheaper manuscripts became obsolete. Often, they were recycled as cheap scrap material. Printers used these pieces of manuscript waste until well into the 17th century. Our collections include over sixty books containing pieces of parchment recycled from older manuscripts. UWTSD’s holds a copy of Leonhard Rauwolf’s travelogue Aigentliche beschreibung der Raiss … (1583) bound in parchment, recycled from a late 14th century missal (or mass-book). For our copy of Denys Lambin’s commentary on Horace, the binder has strengthened the joints of the book with strips from a 15th century antiphonal.
