For any who may be interested, as part of the Lampeter Society lecture series (2023), Craig Owen (Heritage Advisor for the Welsh Centre for International Affairs) will be giving a talk on the topic of “Wales for Peace: from Llangeitho to the United Nations via a Temple of Peace”. For all who are interested. On 4th November at 6pm in the Founders Library, Dr William Marx (who taught at Lampeter since 1979 and retired in recent years) will be giving a talk on the following topic: In pursuit of medieval Welsh manuscripts
This is part of the annual Learned Society lecture series. All are welcome. The talk will also run simultaneously online for those not able to attend in person.

The Lampeter Society's 2022 series of talks continues with a talk from Nicholas Groves (2000, 2008). Nicholas will be giving a talk on Monday 3rd October at 6pm on the history of the robes of St David's College. The talk will be a hybrid event; Nicholas will be giving the talk from the Old Hall at Lampeter where he will be showing some examples of robes. The talk will also be live on zoom. If you would like to attend either in person, or on zoom, please let [email protected] know.
Nicholas's book on the 'Academic Robes of Lampeter' can also be purchased from the online store, along with many other items of alumni merchandise!

Great to see Anthropology at Lampeter alum Malsa Maaz delivering a fascinating TEDx talk on 'The Human Story behind the Glass Cabinet.'

Malsa recently completed an MRes in Engaged Anthropology at UWTSD, with a thesis that examined coconut culture in the Maldives.
