MEET ELLIE

We’re so excited to welcome Ellie to the Satya Sanctuary team from October!

A fantastic Mat & Reformer Pilates instructor, Ellie brings a wealth of knowledge and a real passion for helping people build confidence in their movement. She is also pre & postnatal trained, adding even more experience to our team when it comes to supporting women through different stages of life.

In Ellie’s words:

“I love a layered approach in my classes, so no matter what stage of your journey you’re at, you’ll feel challenged and supported. I love creating classes with a full-body approach in mind, combining mobility and strength, with breathing as the foundation of every movement.”

Ellie will be joining our Reformer timetable from October, and we’re so excited for you to meet her and experience her teaching.

Yesterday we headed back to the Roastery to celebrate the end of our summer series of The Breakfast Club

Our beautiful little home-from-home out in the countryside, gorgeous nourishing breakfasts, delicious coffee and, most importantly, the loveliest community. What more could you want from a Saturday morning?

There’s always been something pretty special about our mornings at the Roastery; moving together, eating together, chatting, slowing down and making a little more space for connection.

And while that might have been the end of our summer Breakfast Club series… we don’t think we’re quite finished with the Roastery just yet!

So, we want to hear from you, what else would you love to see us bring to the Roastery?

More Breakfast Clubs? Yoga & brunch? Pilates mornings? Seasonal events? Evening Sound Baths? Something completely different?

Tell us below… you never know what we might create next

We’re so excited to introduce the newest member of the Satya team… Hattie!

Hattie is a Reformer Pilates instructor with a real passion for movement and helping people feel strong, confident and good in their bodies.

Her classes are upbeat, welcoming and challenging, with a focus on great technique, controlled movement and creating a flow that feels good. Expect to work, build strength and challenge yourself, while still really enjoying the class.

In Hattie’s words:

“I love helping clients build strength while still making classes enjoyable. I can’t wait to welcome you to class and move together!”

From Thursday 10th September, Hattie will be taking over our 5:45pm & 6:45pm Reformer classes, and we’re really excited to have her joining us. Don’t worry Steph B isn’t going anywhere, she’ll be continuing her Wednesday evening classes and also adding Tuesday lunchtimes to the timetable!

We can’t wait for you to meet Hattie!

In the words of the dearly departed Dolly Parton… “if you spend all your time worrying about the bees, you’ll never get time to enjoy the honey.”

And honestly, we think the same applies to walking into a studio for the first time.

If you spend all your time worrying…

What if no one speaks to me?
What if everyone else is better than me?
What if I can’t do it?
What if I come on my own?

…you might never get to experience the good bit.

The person you end up chatting to every week.
The first time you do something you genuinely didn’t think you could.
The class that becomes the best hour of your week.
The moment you realise you’ve found somewhere you actually belong.

Satya Sanctuary isn’t just a studio. It’s a community — and one made up of people of all ages, all abilities and all stages of life.

New mums and empty nesters. Singles and divorcees. People starting again. Teenagers about to head off to university. People who’ve practised for years and people who walked through our doors having never stepped on a yoga mat or reformer before. And somewhere amongst all of that, you find your people. From classes to workshops, events, festivals and everything in between, there’s always something happening and always someone to say hello to.

So don’t let the bees stop you enjoying the honey.

Come to the class.
Book the event.
Walk through the door.

And never be afraid to come alone, because chances are, you won’t be alone for very long. MEET AMBER

We’re so excited to welcome the brilliant Amber to our Wednesday evening timetable.

Amber is a highly experienced teacher whose ethos is rooted in joy, inclusivity and accessibility. Since her 200hr teacher training, she’s trained in Rocket®, Mandala, Yin, Nidra, Tripsichore and Synergy, with a background in dance and gymnastics bringing even more depth to her teaching.

Her classes are warm, playful and encouraging, often inspired by the elements; earth, water, fire, air and space, creating practices that go beyond simply moving through poses.

🚀 6:45pm Rocket®
A dynamic, playful practice born from Ashtanga, combining flowing sequences and strength with opportunities to explore arm balances and inversions, always with options to make the practice your own.

You’ll get your first chance to try Rocket® with Amber on Wednesday 2nd September, before it becomes a weekly fixture from the first Wednesday in October.

🌙 8pm Yin
The perfect contrast: slower, floor-based and deeply grounding. Amber’s Yin will begin weekly from 2nd September, so you can start practising with her straight away.

This new chapter does mean we’ll be saying goodbye to Stu as he focuses on his ongoing studies, family life and teacher training school. We’ll miss him hugely and wish him all the best, although we’re sure he’ll pop back in from time to time.

Stu will continue teaching every other Wednesday until the end of September, with Amber and others covering the alternate weeks.

Please give Amber the biggest Satya welcome as we continue to grow our team, explore new styles and bring even more variety to the Satya timetable.

Reformer has exploded over the last few years, but the experience can look VERY different depending on where you practise.

For us, it was never about fitting as many beds as possible into a room. We wanted to take what makes Reformer so effective and combine it with what Satya has always been about: great teaching, individual attention, community and movement that meets you where you are.

So if you’ve been wondering what actually happens behind the door of our little Reformer studio… keep swiping

This is probably the biggest difference between Reformer at Satya and a conventional group Reformer class.

In a larger class, one instructor may be watching 8, 10, 12 or more bodies moving at the same time. With two, your instructor can actually watch you.

That means noticing your alignment, adjusting your set-up, remembering what you struggled with last time and recognising when you’re ready for more.

It also means two people in the same class don’t necessarily have to do exactly the same thing.Small group isn’t a limitation of our Reformer offering. It’s the whole point of it.

One of the biggest barriers to trying Reformer is simply not knowing what you’re doing.

There are springs to change, straps to use, a carriage that moves underneath you and a whole new vocabulary to learn and walking into a big class for the first time can feel intimidating.

That’s exactly why our set-up works so well for beginners.

We can take the time to explain why you’re doing something, not simply call out an exercise and expect you to follow.

And before long, the equipment that looked slightly terrifying on class one starts to feel completely familiar.

There’s a misconception that smaller or more individualised classes somehow mean gentler classes.

Absolutely not!

The better your instructor can see you, the harder it is to get away with the little compensations we ALL make when things get difficult.

It also means we can progress exercises specifically for you rather than teaching to the average level of an entire room.

More control. More precision. More appropriate challenge.

Sometimes the tiniest adjustment makes an exercise feel completely different, that’s where havin

Everyone seems to be trying to convince you that their way of moving is the way.

Lift weights.
Run.
Do Pilates.
Do HIIT.
Do yoga.
Train harder. Train differently. Do more.

But the best form of exercise? The one you’ll actually keep doing. There’s very little point forcing yourself to go weightlifting twice a year because you’ve been told it’s “optimal” if you spend the entire time dreading it. Because weightlifting, like everything else, will only really benefit you if you do it consistently.

And what are we far more likely to do consistently? The things we actually enjoy. Consistency doesn’t come from finding the perfect workout. It comes from finding movement you genuinely enjoy. A class you look forward to. A teacher you connect with. A community you want to be part of.

Basically… find a class so good you get FOMO when you miss it.

And if you haven’t found yours yet, come and try something new.

Our Reformer Pilates Open Day is Saturday 26th September, the perfect chance to experience our small-group, for one day only enjoy our boutique approach to Reformer for just £11 per 45-minute session.

With only two people per session, you’ll get plenty of guidance, so it’s ideal if you’ve never stepped on a Reformer before.

Spots are already filling up fast, so if Reformer has been on your “I really should try that…” list, this is your sign. The goal isn’t to find the workout everyone else says is best, it’s to find the one you don’t want to miss.

Book your Reformer Open Day spot via the Satya Sanctuary app or website.
