More about Bexton

Bexton Primary School is two form entry primary school situated on a 4-5 acre site in the market town of Knutsford, Cheshire. The school is in a semi-rural location, surrounded on two sides by farm land but in close vicinity to a number of popular housing estates. The school was originally built as separate Infant and Junior schools, with a new corridor build in 2012 enabling the two buildings to be joined together. The EYFS area is open plan with full access to a dedicated outdoor provision, the remainder of the school is arranged as 12 classrooms and separate learning hub used to promote small group learning. The school has an extensive library that is housed within the school corridors with space for the children to sit and read, there is a children’s kitchen and various areas set up to facilitate small group working. School dinners are cooked on-site in the school kitchen. Outside, the school has an extensive “Astro-Turf” pitch, a school garden containing 15 raised beds, a chicken coop. two woodland areas, hard surface playgrounds and an extensive grassed area incorporating football pitches. The school can cater for up to 420 children (14 classes of 30 children). In September 2015 there were 432 children on the school roll. In 2015 we increased our ‘Pupil Admission Number’ to cope with local demand and provided three smaller classes of 25 in Reception.

Year 1 had a lovely morning at Bexton Beach this week. They enjoyed fishing, painting pebbles, making crafts, writing postcards, selling ice creams, flying kites, building sandcastles and much more! ⛱️🐚🦀

After the wonderful Year 6 performance last night, we spent the evening under the stars for our much-loved Year 6 Leavers’ Camp Out. The children enjoyed cheering on England in the World Cup semi-final (even if the result wasn’t quite what we’d hoped for!), toasting marshmallows, making s’mores, sharing lots of laughter and, of course, a fair bit of late-night chatting! 😉

There was definitely more chatting than sleeping, but that’s all part of the magic of a Year 6 camp out! We’re all up bright and early this morning 😳, ready for another day of fun as we make a few more special memories together before our wonderful Year 6’s head off to high school.

✨ Year 6 are having a magical day at Harry Potter World! 🧙⚡
So far they’ve explored the magnificent Great Hall, wandered through the famous Diagon Alley and even stepped into Privet Drive! There has been so much to see, explore and experience and we can’t wait to hear all about their magical adventures when they return later today! ✨

🚍 And just like that, our London adventure has come to an end! We’re heading home up the M6 with a coach full of happy (and rather tired!) Year 5 children and staff, looking forward to seeing everyone later this evening.

Our final day has been packed with even more wonderful experiences. We explored the fascinating world of Crime and Punishment at the London Archives, put our artistic talents to the test by sketching London’s iconic skyline and enjoyed a superb tour of some of London’s most famous sights, expertly led by our very own Mrs Vale 🥰. To top it all off, we finished our adventure with a delicious tea at PizzaExpress. 🍕

What an incredible few days it has been!
We will send parents a separate message with our estimated arrival time shortly.

What. A. Night!
Our incredible Year 5s rounded off another brilliant day with a trip to see The Lion King – and what a performance it was! The show was amazing and made even more special by our fabulous children, who were wonderful company throughout the evening. We couldn’t be prouder of the way they’ve represented Bexton this week.
Even better… everyone enjoyed a full night’s sleep! 😴🎉
This morning we’re up, refreshed and ready for our final adventures before making one last special stop at Pizza Express for dinner on the journey home. 🍕🚍
We’ll definitely be returning with lots of memories - the time has flown by and we’ve loved every minute! 🥰

It’s another fantastic day for our amazing Year 5s! ☀️

After a very enthusiastic report of a “great” night’s sleep 🤭, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast before heading straight down to the River Thames for another exciting adventure on the Golden Salamander boat 😊

As part of our Rivers topic this term, the children have explored the incredible flora and fauna along the river, comparing maps of the riverbanks through the ages and seeing how the landscape has changed over time. We have also been lucky enough to spot cormorants, herons, Canada geese, parrots and even a few foxes along the way! 🦊🪿🌿

We’re back on dry land now and ready for the next exciting activities on today’s packed itinerary. The sun is shining, spirits are high and, as always, the children are being an absolute credit to Bexton with their wonderful behaviour. We’re having the best time! 🥰

What a fantastic first day we’ve had in London already! ☀️🇬🇧

The sun has been shining on our fabulous Year 5 children as they’ve taken in some of London’s most iconic sights. They have enjoyed some breathtaking views from the London Eye, explored the incredible treasures of the British Museum and were even lucky enough to see the world-famous Rosetta Stone! 🤩

We’re now off for a well-deserved dinner before an evening of games and fun together. The children have been an absolute credit to the school and are having an amazing time! 😊

Last week was an incredible celebration of sport at Bexton! 🏅⚽🥋🤸‍♀️

A huge thank you to Wheels Extreme, Gymfinity, Academy of Martial Arts, Roz Webster (DSUK), Todd the Tiger (Everybody Swim), Mrs Leach (Elevate Dance), Mr Roberts, Mr Withnell and the Women's Manchester United Football Team for inspiring our children and creating such a fantastic buzz around school. We hope lots of children discovered a new passion along the way!

And a very special thank you to Mrs Rea for organising this brilliant week of sport, topped off by our fantastic Sports Days on Friday. Everyone's enthusiasm made it such a memorable experience for all of the school! 🌟

Yesterday, we enjoyed another fantastic Bright Beginnings Afternoon at Bexton 🌟

Bright Beginnings is our unique whole-school initiative designed to broaden horizons, develop key life skills and give children memorable hands-on experiences beyond the classroom. Every activity links to The Bexton Pathway and our Five Trails: Performance, Social, Community, Team and Communication.

There was so much wonderful learning taking place across the school: from Year 6 learning how to sew on a button, Year 1 crafting nature crowns, and Year 4 designing treasure maps, to Year 2 telling jokes and creating riddles, Year 5 learning how to put tents up and down, Year 3 creating musical rainforest soundscapes using instruments, and Reception caring for chicks. 🐥🎶⛺🌿🗺️

A beautiful afternoon full of creativity, curiosity, teamwork and real-life learning experiences. 💙

Year 1 enjoyed an exciting trip to Chester Zoo, where they had the opportunity to deepen their scientific understanding of different types of animals while also exploring their history topic on the history of the zoo 🦁. The children were thrilled to see a wide variety of animals from around the world and took part in a range of interactive activities throughout the day. The trip was both educational and memorable, with the children showing great curiosity, enthusiasm and excellent behaviour throughout. It was wonderful to see their learning brought to life outside the classroom!🦒
