A much easier one than last month! The May puzzle was one of the most difficult non calculator questions I’ve seen. Hopefully nothing quite as bad will come up in this years papers🤞

As the first GCSE maths exam hits tomorrow I’d just like to wish all my wonderful students all the very best for not just their maths exams but all of their GCSE subjects. Without exception they have all worked tremendously hard and deserve every success in the world. You have all been amazing, now go and smash that first paper tomorrow👊
And…. My hardworking A Level students, what can I say? Simply the hardest working students who have shown such grit and determination. Your time will come in just a few weeks to demonstrate just how good you are.
Very best wishes to you all and enjoy your long summer break when these pesky exams are over🍾🍾

Not so much a puzzle as a challenge! This was an actual GCSE question a few years ago. To be answered without a calculator! Only the most able students were able to answer it, can you?

Due to popular demand I have one space left for for my intensive revision classes for foundation level GCSE. These sessions will basically cover the entire GCSE specification with plenty of exam practise questions. These sessions classes are run over 4 separate days and take place on the following days in person at the office in Knowle.

Sunday 3rd May 12.00-2.30pm
Sunday 10th May 12.00-2.30pm
Monday 25th May 12.00-2.30pm
Wednesday 27th May 12.00-2.30pm

The classes are timed so that the Sunday sessions concentrate on the non calculator exam paper which takes place on the 14th May, and the other two classes will concentrate on the calculator papers which follow on the 3rd and 10th June. This timing hopefully means less time to forget key concepts before the exams🤞😀
The classes are really suited to students who really want to achieve grade 4 or 5, they won’t be so useful for lower attaining students I’m afraid.

In addition to the classes, ongoing what’s app support is provided up to the last examination.
The cost of all four classes is £300 with a deposit payable on booking followed by the balance a week before each class. If you think you would like more details please call me on 07836672187 to discuss.
