✏️ Back to school…..

✏️ So this term is all about transition, something children with additional needs (and let’s face it their parents) can find a real challenge.

✏️ Maybe you are worrying about big changes to a new school or the change to a new class and teacher. the job of explaining your child’s needs all over again can feel overwhelming.

✏️ Or maybe you’re looking forward to a new start and this is the year you are planning to get a plan together to better understand and support your child’s need?

✏️ The most common thing that comes up in my messages and conversations with parents of children with Additional Needs is: The Juggle.

✏️ There’s a LOT to keep on top of and work out, the paperwork, the calls, the chasing of appointments and professionals. And there’s still tea to sort/other siblings/and the ever-present ‘self-care’ !

✏️ Summer term for children with additional needs has a lot of challenges, not least the looming change and transition of next year.

✏️ Coordinating support for your child is like a full time job a lot of the time and coming up is the yearly task of starting again when you may not feel like everything is in a good place at the moment….
