Performing Arts School based in Knaresborough, offering Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Street Dance and Musical All classes are held at Aspin Primary School, Knaresborough.

Established in January 2010, Freedom Performing Arts is an independent school offering a variety of different classes in all areas of performing arts. Specialising in Street Dance, Freedom have become one of the leading Performing Arts Schools in the Knaresborough area, boasting over 280 Students aged 3yrs – 18yrs of age. Created and founded by Amy Clifford, the school aims to provide fun classes

that allow you to express yourself and have fun, as well as learning good technique and improving your confidence. Here at Freedom we believe that children learn best whilst having fun and being with their friends in an environment where there is no pressure on exams or grades and the students simply have the FREEDOM to be themselves. All our teachers have trained professionally in Musical Theatre and Dance at various colleges across the country and have vast experience working within the industry.

Out Of Office 💜✨

Sam is back from her holidays and now it’s my turn! (Slightly giddy about our trip for my big bday ✌🏻🇺🇸!)

Please bear with us as Sam starts to work through all emails from the last few weeks including allocating waiting lists and admission enquiries.

While I’m away communication will be slower and the majority of non urgent enquiries will be responded to week commencing 7th September.

All communication should be done via email, please avoid texting or WhatsApp while teachers are still trying to find time to relax and switch off.

Huge Good Luck to everyone attending the Knaresborough Business Awards this evening. We are gutted that we can’t make it this year 😭

We have selected our 2027 small commercial groups but the best part? All these superstars are part of our Large Groups and we couldn’t be more excited to get started for qualifiers!

Graduation Class of 2026 💜🎓

Lovely evening for this years leavers! Celebrating these wonderful students and everything they have achieved. I’m so proud of them.

Much smaller affair than usual as so many people are on holiday! But lots of fun was had none the less! 💜

SUMMER SCHOOL 2026 ✨

What a WEEK! I’m blown away by everything we have achieved together this week. In just 5 days these students have learnt 33 pieces and put on a phenomenal show.

Every year it blows my mind what we manage to pull off in a week but this year something felt different… we were one big family working together and the result was something incredibly special.

What a way to send off our leavers. Conk, Kate, Faith, Tia and Ellie we are going to miss you soooooo much. I just can’t imagine Freedom without you all 😭

HUGE thank you to Sam, Lydia, Sophie, Lynette, Abby, Hannah & Emma. Not many teachers would agree to work on such a chaotic project but you all come back year after year knowing just what a rewarding time we have.

Finally on a personal note I just want to thank EVERYONE for being a part of my huge Freedom Family. Hosting Summer School in my own studios and seeing the talent on that stage knowing it’s the product of our hard work has been a dream come true and every day I feel so grateful of everything we have achieved together.

I hope you’re all having a rest and a lie in today!

Having the best week at our Summer School! 33 Dances & Pieces choreographed in 3 days with 102 students… our Summer Schools are like no other!!

These ladies (& Emma) are the absolute BEST in the business and I’m so lucky to call them my TEAM 💪🏻

Now time to get everything clean clean clean 🧼 and costume these master pieces ✨✨

WHAT A WEEK!!!

In the last 5 days we have:

💜 Performed our MT Showcase with 120 students and over 300 in the audience!
💜 Filmed 3 senior routines for 2027 DWC qualifiers
💜 Performed 8 routines at Colour Fest
💜 Had 8 soloists sing at Colour Fest
💜 Warm up HUNDREDS of runners and host a paint station
💜 Had 3 students attend the Dance World Cup finals in Dublin
💜 Imogen brought home a Gold & Bronze Medal
💜 Emily & Mila placed top 10 with all 3 of their dances
💜 Held exam coaching sessions
💜 Plus all of our usual regular weekly classes!

Well done team… we know how to pack things in!

Remember no weekly classes this week just exam coaching, then we are in to Summer School one week today!!!! ☀️

Also shout out to Kate at HA Garment Printing for our fabulous showcase T.shirts that she turned around in record time!
