⭐️ 𝕆𝕒𝕜 𝕋𝕣𝕖𝕖 ⭐️

This week in Phonics, we have been learning new letter sounds and practising blending them together to read simple words. The children enjoyed taking part in a range of fun games and activities to help them identify sounds at the beginning and end of words. We also worked on reading short decodable sentences, and it was wonderful to see their confidence growing. Everyone showed fantastic enthusiasm and worked really hard throughout the week. Keep practising these sounds at home to help support their continued progress!

In Numeracy, we explored prepositions and coordinates using positional language such as “above”, “below”, “next to” and “between”. The children had great fun following and giving directions on simple grids to locate different objects using coordinates. They also practised describing positions clearly, helping to develop both their mathematical vocabulary and spatial awareness.

🎉 PEAR TREE SUMMER FAIR 2026 🎉

What an absolutely fantastic day we had yesterday at our Summer Fair! The weather was on our side, the atmosphere was amazing, and thanks to the incredible support of our school community, we are thrilled to announce that we raised just over £1,000 for the school! 🎊

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, supported, and attended the event. We simply couldn't have done it without you.

Most importantly, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kirsty Hall. The time, effort, and dedication that went into organising the entire event was incredible, and the success of the day is a testament to all of her hard work. Thank you, Kirsty! You did an amazing job! 🌟

🎶 BAE Systems Choir 🎶

Last week we were very lucky to have the BAE Systems Choir come and perform for our students! Everyone was very impressed with their variety of songs and the choir got everyone involved in singing.

At our Summer Fair, we’ll be running a raffle for a signed No. 9 HAALAND Manchester City shirt (size medium). Tickets cost £2 per strip and can be purchased via School Spider, from the school office, or at the fair on Wednesday.

This week in Elm tree all the pupils have worked hard across all subjects. As a special surprise for the pupils, we have been looking into different aspects of pirates!

We started by making treasure maps then moved on to making treasure chests. Great to see the different expressions of art and design by all. Perhaps the most fun was when we got out the play swords for them to show off their swash buckling skills. All this was a lead up to our story of Treasure Island. 🏝
