es, sand and water play, adventure play, music and movement, books and stories, just to name a few, as well as the opportunity to socialize with other children. We provide a stable, secure and relaxed environment where parents and carers feel confident to leave their children. We also offer a sensory room where the children can relax if they are feeling anxious. Linktown is classified in the same status as all other local authority nurseries, as an “Early Learning and Childcare Centre (ELCC)”. As many of you will be aware, your child will qualify for local government funding in the term after their 3rd birthday, just as they would in a local school nursery. Linktown works in partnership with Fife Council, meaning we are ‘partner providers’ and are allocated 22.5 hours funding per nursery-aged child per week. This means your child can still attend Linktown on a funded basis should you wish to stay on for their nursery years. We also offer funded spaces for 2 year olds. Families must reach a certain criteria in order to qualify for funded sessions. Please speak to a member of staff for more information. Should you qualify, your child is allocated 22.5 hours per week, 51 weeks a year. We do not off term time session’s at Linktown. Please contact us for our funded session times. You can also use your funded hours and add extra hours onto this should you need this. We work exceptionally hard to ensure our learning environment is equal to, or surpasses, the standard of local school nurseries. At Linktown, we would love for your child to continue attending after the term after their 3rd birthday. Below are some of the many reasons your child will benefit enormously from staying with us for those important nursery years:
⦁ We cover the same educational standards, working with the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence for Early Levels, across all curriculum areas including literacy, mathematics, sciences and technologies.
⦁ We are governed by the same authorities for maintaining high standards including educational and care inspections.
⦁ We operate with a 1:5 ratio (educator to child) in comparison to local authority nurseries which operate with a 1:10 ratio. This means at Linktown your child will receive more one-on-one attention and additional support whenever they need it.
⦁ Our playrooms have a maximum capacity of 24 children, compared to 50+ in local authority nurseries, again reinforcing our ability to offer more time for your child so they can be supported, listened to and watched carefully.
⦁ Also, thanks to our smaller, family-focused setting, we are able to watch the children’s interactions more closely, and help them develop those all-important social skills, such as taking turns, listening to others and helping one another
