“Hi my name is Julie.
I attended dunnikier in the late 60s and 70s
I found this photo when clearing out
This was Mr. William Coventry’s class primary 7
Prior to going up to Balwearie we were the first year that went comprehensive no 11 plus was sat
There were separate playgrounds one for boys one for girls and we were forbidden to cross that invisible line
Separate entrances for boys and girls
The belt was given for misbehaving this could be for chatting in class etc …..shocking eh ?
All in all it was a great school and most of this class went on to do well
Doctors, Nurses, teachers, politicians, engineers, entrepreneurs
