⭐️ NAT 5 MATHS EXAM CLASS ⭐️

It's been a while....

I wanted to float an idea just to see how much traction there might be before deciding whether to go ahead or not.

Who would find a Nat 5 Maths group class helpful? It would largely focus on exam technique (lots of focusing on past paper questions) but based on a specific skill each week.

If I were to get enough interest in this then I'd look at holding weekly classes from now until the exam in May.

Evening everyone.

Sadly I’ve taken the decision to cancel both the Times Tables Bootcamp and the National 5 Maths Revision Course.

Since both had so few sign ups, I simply can’t justify the running them.

Hopefully if demand is higher in the future I will consider having another go at launching them.

One of the most common things I am asked about as a tutor is how to help children improve their times tables.

Being fluent with times tables is really important for learning future maths concepts such as fractions and percentages as they rely so much on a firm grounding in the tables facts. It also helps reduce maths anxiety and improve confidence.

Times tables Bootcamp is designed to improve your child’s recall and use of tables in a fun, interactive way.

🧮NATIONAL 5 MATHS REVISION CLASSES✏️

Would your child benefit from extra revision for National 5 Maths?

Are they finding parts of the National 5 maths course tricky to understand or master?

Starting Tuesday 24th October at 7.30pm, we will be holding weekly classes which explore a different part of the National 5 maths curriculum.

These live, online classes are taught through Zoom by a highly experienced teacher and tutor.

Classes are also supported by an online Google Classroom where videos and resources will be made available to help with revision.

What can my child gain from Bootcamp?

CONFIDENCE! 😃 Much of maths and numeracy from P5 onwards requires a secure grounding in times tables. Children are expected to be able to work with division, fractions, decimals, algebra… the list goes on.

Security with the tables makes these concepts easier to work with as the answers they need are at their fingertips. As concepts get more complex, the children who are fluent with their tables experience greater success and less maths related anxiety.

Bootcamp aims to give children greater confidence with their tables, using an active and fun approach to learning and practicing them.

For children in Primaries 5 and 6.

Does your child struggle with remembering and using their times tables? 🤔

Developing confidence with tables helps children achieve better in their maths, and makes them better prepared for new maths concepts. 😎

Times Tables Bootcamp has been specially designed for children to investigate and use their tables through fun activities and games.

Times Tables Bootcamp is taught by a highly experienced teacher.

When: 24th October - 12th December, 3.30pm-4.30pm

Happy Sunday everyone! I realise it’s been a long time so I’m dropping a post to say hi!
It’s been a tough year so far but I’m going to be dipping my toes back in to tutoring again soon.
I’m starting off with running some small classes next month then I’ll be able to look towards offering 1:1s again - these are still on pause for the time being.

Well, that’s a wrap on 2022 and it’s been a good one.

For me as a tutor it’s been a privilege to see so many of my students cope so well with the first exam diet in 3 years. I have seen my little learners gain confidence with learning to read and write. Many of my older students have survived the transition to high school or the start of their National courses.

Every single one has had a win! (And that’s my win!)

Thank you to you all for being amazing, whether you’re a current, past or future student, whether you’ve had 1:1 support or been part of a class or workshop. Without your support I’d not be able to do what I do and love.

I’m sitting planning out my first IN PERSON GROUP CLASS! 🎉🧮

Aimed at kids in primaries 4 and 5, the Times Table Boot Camp will help improve kids’ performance and confidence with their tables.

No firm details as yet but I’m hoping to launch this in January.
