The change of seasons is certainly beginning to feel eminent, so we've made the most of the woods and the school site to explore the secret hideaways of various bugs and insects before they take a slower pace for the colder months.

We've been going on bug hunts! Equipped with study jars and magnifying glasses, we've been looking everywhere... under rocks, on the bark of trees, under leaves in hedgerows. Some of our Beetle students along with our Dragonfly students enjoyed a visit to our offsite Forest School venue to have a look at what the woodlands have to offer. We found worms, woodlice, beetles, ladybirds and various bugs. The joy of independent exploration was so evident amongst our students. We compared what we had found, and then enjoyed the releasing of our bugs back into their natural habitat.

Back at school, Welbeck class went on a bug hunt and found similar bugs and insects, and even found some crickets. Our Newstead students also enjoyed making stickmen and general exploration of our school green space.

Our children have certainly enjoyed the outdoor wonders of our local environment. Well done to our bug hunters and green space explorers

Students enjoyed their first horse-riding visit of the year yesterday. Everyone quickly became comfortable sitting on their horses and, by the end of the session, they were confidently heading out for a walk.

All 14 academies across Esteem are open and welcoming students for the new academic year.

A big thank you to every member of staff who worked hard over the summer to get buildings, resources, and plans ready. And to parents and carers — thank you for your continued support. We're looking forward to working with you this year.

Here's to a brilliant autumn term ahead!

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our families, we would like to offer help to anyone who may benefit from having some home-cooked meals provided for their household.

We have a small number of home-cooked meals available for families who may benefit from some extra support at the moment. We work closely with Acre Young People Centre, and our Key Stage 4 students work hard on preparing and cooking delicious meals on Thursdays. If this would be helpful for your family, please contact me at school.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if we can help.

At the beginning of the term, all schools within the academy were given a blank picture frame and challenged to create a piece of artwork that would be displayed in the new Esteem head office.

Miss Gladwin worked with Welbeck Class to create this amazing piece of art, and we are incredibly proud of the finished result.

Well done to everyone involved!

Tomorrow is the last day of term and everyone is welcome to come along in non uniform.

On Friday 10th July, we were fortunate to enjoy a special performance from talented young singer-songwriter Sylvie. She treated us to a wonderful mix of well-known covers and her own original songs, showcasing her impressive musical talent.

Following the performance, we had the opportunity to chat with Sylvie and ask her about her musical journey and career so far. It was a fascinating insight into her experiences and aspirations.

It was a fantastic morning that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended.
