📚🌟 We’re on the leaderboard! 🌟📚

A huge well done to all of our Kingsway children who have taken part in the Summer Reading Challenge at Kirkby Library so far!

We’re currently joint 2nd place on the school leaderboard – what an amazing achievement! 🎉

Can we make it to the top? 🏆 There’s still plenty of time to sign up, borrow books and take part. Every child who joins in helps our school climb the leaderboard while enjoying the wonderful world of reading.

Keep up the fantastic reading, Kingsway! We can’t wait to see how far we can go together. 📖💙

💙✨ Two very special goodbyes at Kingsway… ✨💙

What an unforgettable day as we celebrated two very special members of the Kingsway family.

We started by surprising Mrs Bradbury with a heartfelt “This Is Your Life” assembly. Filled with treasured memories, laughter and touching tributes, it was a wonderful way to celebrate everything she has given to our school over the years. ❤️

Next came Mr Julian Wilson, who thought the celebrations had finished… but we had one final surprise! As he stepped outside, he was greeted by the entire school, with children and staff gathered together to give him the send-off he truly deserved. It was a truly special moment, made even more memorable as we all joined together to sing 🎶 Sweet Caroline 🎶—a song that had everyone smiling, clapping and singing at the top of their voices! 💙👏

To Mrs Bradbury and Mr Wilson – thank you for your years of dedication, care and commitment. You have touched the lives of so many children, families and colleagues, and your impact on Kingsway will never be forgotten. 💙

✨ What a way to finish the school year! ✨

The last few weeks have certainly kept us busy… and we wouldn’t have it any other way! 💙💛

🚔 Our Year 5 Mini Police officers rounded off their programme with an incredible visit to Police HQ, where they explored the many different departments and saw first-hand the amazing work that goes on behind the scenes.

🏃‍♀️ We cheered each other on during our whole school Sports Day, celebrating teamwork, determination and lots of smiles!

🌱🎨 We welcomed parents into school for our Stress Awareness workshops, enjoying gardening and crafting together.

💦🎶 Our Year 6s made unforgettable memories with their disco and water fight before their emotional Leavers’ Assembly, while our wonderful F2 Butterflies celebrated their Graduation and are now ready to spread their wings as Ladybirds in Year 1. 🦋🐞

⭐️ We also celebrated lots of fantastic achievements with our K.I.T. and Star Award assemblies – we’re so proud of every single child.

📦 Throughout it all, we’ve been busy with our big school move around, and our children have been absolutely amazing. Their resilience, kindness and enthusiasm have made the whole process so much easier. 💙

Finally, we say a heartfelt goodbye to two very special members of our school family, Mr Wilson and Mrs Bradbury, as they begin their well-earned retirement. Thank you both for your years of dedication, care and commitment. You will be greatly missed, and we wish you every happiness in this exciting new chapter. ❤️

What an incredible end to another unforgettable year at Kingsway.

🌱 Learning Together at Kingsway! ♻️💚

Over this half term, we have been delighted to work alongside ATTFE College to deliver two fantastic Level 1 Stress Awareness courses here at school for our parents and families.

Although the courses were short, they were packed with fun, creativity and opportunities to learn together.

🌼 One group explored how gardening and spending time outdoors can support our wellbeing, with families planting, growing and even harvesting vegetables from our school garden.

🎨 The second group discovered how recyclable crafts can be a great way to relax, be creative and spend quality time together, transforming everyday items into brilliant creations.

It has been wonderful to see parents and children learning side by side, building confidence, sharing smiles and making special memories together.

A huge thank you to ATTFE College for working in partnership with us. We hope everyone who attended enjoyed the experience as much as we did, and we look forward to welcoming more families to future courses at Kingsway.

🌟 OPAL Celebration Time! 🌟

What an incredible week of play at Kingsway! 🎉

A huge congratulations to OPAL award winner, who achieved something truly special by winning both the Kindness Boot 🥾 and the Golden Tidy Brush 🧹 this week! To be recognised for showing kindness to others and helping to keep our play spaces tidy is an outstanding achievement. Well done, we’re all so proud of you! 👏⭐

Our OPAL Play Team Champion this week is Miss Divers, who looks after our fantastic Wheels Zone. Whether children are riding scooters or skateboards, Miss Divers is always there encouraging confidence, safe play and lots of fun. Thank you for everything you do! 👑💚

Finally, we’d like to give a massive shout out to our amazing OPAL Play Team. Every single member of the team helps to make our playtimes exciting, inclusive and full of opportunities for every child. Your enthusiasm, dedication and teamwork are a huge part of what makes OPAL such a success at Kingsway, and we are so grateful for everything you do. 💚

We are absolutely delighted to share that we have achieved the Platinum OPAL Award – the highest accolade a school can receive for play!

This incredible achievement places Kingsway in the top 9% of OPAL schools nationally and recognises our commitment to providing every child with outstanding play opportunities every single day.

Since beginning our OPAL journey, our school community has embraced the belief that play is essential for children’s happiness, wellbeing, creativity and development. Together, we have transformed our outdoor environment, introduced exciting new play experiences and created a culture where every child can play, explore, imagine and thrive.

🌱🍓 Our Parent Gardening Sessions are helping our allotment thrive! 🍓🌱

Our allotment is looking absolutely wonderful thanks to the hard work and dedication of our families. It’s fantastic to see everyone working together to care for our growing space and learn new gardening skills along the way.

Last week, we harvested some beautiful rhubarb from the allotment. This week, we put it to good use and enjoyed tasting it together! It was a great opportunity for children and adults to see the journey from garden to plate and discover new flavours.

We also got creative by making bug houses to place around our school allotment. These will provide important habitats for insects and help encourage even more wildlife into our growing area. 🐞🐝🪲

A huge thank you to all of the parents, carers and children who have joined us. Your enthusiasm and support are helping our allotment blossom into a fantastic community space.

We can’t wait to see what we’ll be harvesting and creating next! 🌿🍅🥔
