If Mental Health First Aid training isn’t on your radar, it absolutely should be. 💚

These days, more than ever, having trained staff who can spot the signs that someone might be struggling and feel confident starting those important conversations is essential.

Last week, our instructor Ross headed to Kilwinning to deliver Mental Health First Aid training to the The Scottish Government’s Rural Payments and Inspections Division (RPID) team, through our partnership with RSABI.

It sounds like they had a brilliant day together, with plenty of learning, lots of open conversations and, of course, cake. Because let’s be honest, cake makes everything better! 🍰

Joking aside, creating a workplace where people feel able to talk, know how to listen and recognise when someone might need support can make a real difference.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes, knowing how to start a conversation is the most important first step.

A big thank you to the RPID team for getting involved, and to RSABI for helping us make this training available to more people.

In the chaos, who makes the call?

Come behind the scenes with us and see a month in the life of a Rizon instructor! 👷

No two days are ever the same for our instructors, and our instructor Peter Mackenzie has been keeping busy this month, travelling around and delivering a real mix of training.

From Novice A3 pedestrian-operated counterbalance training with the brilliant team at BrewDog, to rough terrain lift trucks and telehandlers with James Jones & Sons Ltd it’s been a varied few weeks.

Pete’s also been working with SLB at ASCO Peterhead on hook and lift truck attachments, helping the Diageo team with forklift training for cask handling, and delivering JIB and hook attachment training at Halliburton.

There’s been static boom MEWP training with LERWICK ENGINEERING & FABRICATION LTD. in Shetland, plus integrated personnel basket attachment training and rescue drills at GORDON SAWMILLS LIMITED in Nairn.

A lot of different equipment, different environments and different training needs - all part of helping people work safely and confidently.

💪 Now here’s a team that looks ready to take action! 👷‍♂️

Our senior instructor Ross had a brilliant time on board the Spearfish at Aberdeen South Harbour, delivering Working at Height Training to the fantastic team at DeepOcean.

What a brilliant bunch! 👏 The team embraced the learning, got involved with plenty of engagement and showed they were ready to take their new skills back into the workplace.

🎉 Rizon is one!

We could write pages upon pages about why we came together, the highs and lows of our first year, the challenges we’ve faced and everything we’ve learned along the way but today isn’t about that.

Today is about celebrating our amazing staff, incredible customers and wonderfully supportive partners. ❤️

Bringing multiple businesses together and launching a new brand in a competitive market was never going to be easy and there have certainly been plenty of challenges along the way but the highs have definitely outweighed the lows, and most importantly, we are absolutely loving the journey we’re on.

What a year it has been…

🌍 We’ve travelled the world delivering training.

🚀 We’ve launched new products into the market.

🎓 We’ve trained thousands of individuals.

🏢 We’ve supported hundreds of businesses.

👩‍🎓 We’ve welcomed dozens of school children through our centre.

🤝 We’ve held our own events and showcased Rizon at plenty of others.

✅ We’ve passed every audit and inspection

❤️ We’ve raised lots of money for charity (...and met the real Spiderman doing it 👀).

🍰 ...and we’ve definitely eaten a record number of biscuits and cakes in the office this year!

Rizon may only be one, but the experience behind us stretches back around 100 years. And the best bit? We’re only just getting started.

A big thank you to the RWG (Repair & Overhauls) team for having us along to deliver B3 Conversion Training to the team.

Our instructor, Peter Mackenzie had a fantastic time working with everyone and really enjoyed the enthusiasm, engagement and willingness to learn throughout the session.

Investing in training like this is so important - It’s not just about developing technical skills it’s about building confidence, improving consistency and giving people the knowledge and practical experience they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.
