Welcome to Maritime 101 🌊

Every week, we’ll be breaking down the maritime industry into simple explanations designed to help you better understand the pathways, qualifications, careers, and terminology used across the industry.

Because starting a career at sea shouldn’t feel impossible to figure out!

First Up: STCW

Here’s the simple version 👇

STCW is the internationally recognised safety training most people need before working professionally at sea.

Whether you’re looking at:
⚓ Yachting
⚓ Deckhand work
⚓ Offshore
⚓ Commercial vessels
⚓ Cruise ships
…this is usually one of the first steps.

Save this as your beginner’s guide to STCW, and send it to someone trying to break into the maritime industry!
