Today is my last day working for the Training Centre after nearly nine years. I'd like to thank the many hundreds of people that have attended the workshops and training courses I've organised, and wish my successor good luck. Gary Sutherland.

With the snowy conditions we've decided to put back the start of the Gaelic classes for a couple of weeks to 31 Jan. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause anyone. Also, as the High School is closed due to the weather it's unlikely that this week's Badminton will go ahead on Wednesday.

For good or ill more elections are requiring you to have some form of ID in order to cast your ballot. This is usually a photocard driving license or passport.

If you don't have either of these, and many of our elder neighbours may fall into this category, you may get turned away at the polling station but there is an alternative in the form of the Voter Authority Certificate but this needs to be applied for on-line.

You need an up to date digital photo and your National Insurance number. We can help you with this and guide you through the on-line application. This is a free service we provide for the community.

Apply for photo ID to vote (Voter Authority Certificate) in some elections and referendums in Great Britain if you do not have an accepted form of ID.
