Huge congratulations to the "brilliant Year 11 students" at Kingswinford Academy receiving their GCSE results today!

Headteacher Ian Moreton said, "This is a historic day for Kingswinford Academy, and I am exceptionally proud of everything our students have accomplished. It has been a fantastic week for our students who attended the water sports activity week in Newquay, Cornwall.

Throughout the week, students threw themselves into a variety of challenging water activities, including surfing, coasteering, and navigating the monster SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboard). We couldn't have asked for better conditions the weather was spectacular, and the water was absolutely perfect for our sessions.

What stood out most, however, was the incredible character shown by our students. They demonstrated outstanding resilience and growing confidence with every new challenge they faced. They have been absolute credits to the school, and many are already asking when they can sign up for next year!

A huge thank you to all the instructors who made this memorable week possible.

Today our Year 9 Local Heritage Ambassadors have had the wonderful opportunity to visit Dudley Archives and Local History Centre where they were met by 'The Friends of Dudley Archives' who talked to them about what life was like in Post War Britain.

Students were able to develop their historical skills by investigating evidence using the microfilm readers viewing articles from the 1960s. They have discovered the importance of preserving our local history and enjoyed a short tour of the museum.

We would like to thank everyone at Dudley Archives for welcoming us and 'The Friends of the Archives' for helping with our research.

U13 Cricket Champions!

Yesterday, our U13 (Y7/8) cricket team were crowned champions after a brilliant performance against Ellowes in the final.

A fantastic 4 wickets from Adam S meant that we had a favourable score of 53 to chase, which our batters were able to do in only 8/10 overs. Ismail N and Thiven B built a dominant partnership with the bat, before Joe N hit big boundaries at the end to give us the win. All students played a huge part in our success this season, well done all!

On Tuesday, some of our Year 7, 8 and 9 students headed down to London to visit the Houses of Parliament. They were absolutely fantastic, and especially enjoyed questioning their local MP, Mike Woods, about the upcoming social media ban. The weather was fabulous so we had a little walking tour around Westminster too!

U13 & U15 Cricket finals!

Both of our U13 and U15 sides are currently undefeated and have booked themselves a place in the North Dudley final! The boys have faced adversity throughout their matches and it has been fantastic to see them persevere and show our aspire characteristics in order to gain success. A big shout out to both captains, Jack and Thiven who have shown fantastic leadership throughout the season. We are now looking forward to the finals next week where we hope to cap off a brilliant campaign.

WAT Darts Event!

Well done to our students that finished in second place at the WAT Darts event and a massive shoutout to Finn for hitting a 180! It was a brilliant event that our students really enjoyed. Thank you to Cheslyn Hay for hosting.
