Red Robin Art Academy

It's been a while since I've posted so I thought I'd share some recent Red Robin creations for you to enjoy! Summer term usually means we put the acrylic paints away for a while and have some fun with watercolour, ink and oil paint!

I offer fine art lessons for both adults and children from my home studio in Hampton Wick, designed to be fully inclusive but also provide stretch and challenge - my current age range is 8 - 83!

Had great fun painting bathtime ducks for The Hygiene Bank's charity quiz night event being held at The Jolly Coopers pub in Hampton - duck puns all round! There are still a couple of tables available so do come along for brain-teasing questions, happy vibes and plenty of chances to win prizes 🤩.

I am delighted to be exhibiting this weekend at Hampton Court House School alongside a range of fantastic local artists. Do come along and have a look, its a beautiful building and you may even pick up something special to take home ☺️.

Taking inspiration from the wonderful Chris Hill at OpenArt, we had loads of fun (and a fair bit of challenge!) trying to recreate the atmosphere and energy of his landscape paintings. These are mixed media pieces using gouache, ink, charcoal and acrylic. Chris's advice is 'paint quick, paint cheap and paint lots!'

Off with a bang this term, exploring the work of the brilliant Kimberley Kelly Santini. These pictures were created using gouache, chalk pastel pencils and a touch of acrylic thrown in at the end!

Absolutely loved our oil pastel portrait workshop this morning! We used a wide array of tools and thinners to get the very best out of this vibrant medium, they're a lot more versatile than you think 😃.
