🍂 Autumn Adventures at Kingswood Tiny Tots 🦔

Today we made the most of the sunshine and explored the outdoors, searching for natural materials to create our very own autumn hedgehogs. 🍁 We collected leaves, twigs, grass and other interesting treasures, talking about the different colours, textures and things we could see around us.

Back inside, we used our finds to decorate our hedgehogs, getting messy with paint and using our imaginations to create our own little masterpieces! We also enjoyed creative construction play, building with blocks and using our toy tools to fix, build and create. 🔨🧱

Our activities supported lots of areas of the EYFS, including Understanding the World through exploring nature and noticing seasonal changes; Expressive Arts & Design through creating our hedgehogs and imaginative building; Physical Development through collecting, painting, sticking, building and using tools; Communication & Language as we talked about what we found and shared ideas; Personal, Social & Emotional Development through playing alongside our friends, sharing and taking turns; and Mathematics through exploring shapes, sizes, quantities and building.

Another fun-filled day of playing, learning and exploring at Kingswood Tiny Tots. 🏡🌈

Now it’s time for a couple of days back with our families before we’re reunited for more adventures next week! ❤️🦔🍂

Another day of adventure at Kingswood Tiny Tots learning whilst we play 🌈🌟📚

🌿 Our Day at East Hull Community Farm & Forest School 🌿

Today was a quieter day at Kingswood Tiny Tots as some of our little friends weren’t with us. We made the most of the sunshine with a lovely morning at East Hull Community Farm, exploring the outdoor areas, getting messy, investigating nature and enjoying lots of child-led play with some other children and their childminders. 🌳🐷

We then headed into the forest school where we explored different textures, balanced, climbed, used our imaginations and enjoyed being curious about the world around us. After all that fresh air, we stopped for our packed lunches, had a little play and then headed back ready for the school run. 🥪💚

Without even realising it, we covered lots of our EYFS learning and development areas today — Communication & Language, Personal, Social & Emotional Development, Physical Development, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts & Design. 🌈

Tomorrow we’re off to music class to sing, play and spend time with our friends, while continuing to support everyone’s individual learning milestones through play and we cannot wait. 🎶🥁

Last week was our last week with our school friends before they headed back to school, and what a busy week it was! 🌈

We welcomed some new little friends to Kingswood Tiny Tots and had lots of adventures together. We visited The Deep again, where the children loved watching and learning about all the amazing sea animals. 🐠🦈 We also, of course, had to visit a farm — apparently this is now a requirement because “farm!” is one of the first requests I hear when everyone gets into the car! 😂🐄

We spent time back at the hub too, playing, exploring and learning through our toys and activities.

But my favourite moments weren’t the big days out. They were the little things. ❤️ Hearing the boys use their manners completely independently, without being prompted, was such a proud moment for me as a new childminder. We also celebrated one of our little boys learning to use the toilet — another huge milestone! ⭐

It’s easy to focus on the trips and activities, but these little moments are what make childminding so special. Watching their confidence grow, seeing them learn from one another and noticing those little developments happening right in front of me is something I feel very lucky to be part of.

What a gorgeous day we’ve had today! ☀️💛

We started our morning with a drive out before visiting the farm, where the children got to see lots of animals including chickens, goats, pigs and horses 🐔🐐🐷🐴. There were lots of animal noises, pointing, chatting and excitement along the way!

We then headed over to Little Swiss for a lovely walk and some fresh air 🌳. We found the perfect spot around the lake for our picnic, played some football ⚽️ and, of course, cooled down with some yummy ice lollies 🍦☀️.

We definitely made the most of the beautiful weather, and even managed to squeeze in another stop on the way home! We visited the park for some fun on the swings and slides 🛝 before heading back ready to see our families after a very busy day. 🥰

Being able to spend a summer day with my little one while also doing a job that I absolutely love is everything…Watching him play, help and interact so beautifully with the younger children was such a lovely moment for me. 🥹💙 I love seeing the little ones looking up to him, shouting of him and watching those friendships grow.

Farm animals, walks, football, picnics, ice lollies, parks and lots of happy little faces - summer days like this are what Kingswood Tiny Tots is all about! 🌈☀️🐷⚽️🛝💛
