During the Great War Talbot House - Every man's club provided a safe haven and a small piece of normality for British troops in the front lines. Today the very existence of this iconic institution - in which Harry Patch, the last fighting Tommy, was a regular visitor and which many of you will have visited as part of your school's battlefield tour - is under threat.

'Toc-H' - a non-profit charity - is now planning to launch a new and stunning exhibition within its walls. One which will not only make a large number of historical artifacts available for the first time, but which will also guarantee the future of this great institution.

A safe haven, spiritual centre and 'small piece of Britain within Flanders Fields' is trying to survive and so far there has been very little support from the descendents of those who sought shelter there more than 100 years ago. I just wanted to point this out - If you visited Toc-H and if you have enjoyed its hospitality or if your ancestors fought in Flanders during the Great War or maybe just for the love of history

So cool

Dotted across the landscape of Britain and Ireland, hillforts have been part of our story for millennia and for the first time a new online atlas launched today captures all of their locations and key details in one place.
