Well done to our pupils for winning the competition! We hope that these posters can be made into street signs around our community. Thank you Hester Bridges - Councillor for Southcoates and the team for their support.
Lovely visit to Alderman & Cogan School today to meet two of the brilliant winners of the “Slow Down” competition.
The children have been thinking about how we make sure drivers slow down near the school so children and families can cross safely.
Their posters were fantastic - thoughtful and with a very clear message for drivers: slow down and keep children safe.
A big well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to the school for helping young people have their say on road safety in their own community. 👏

On Thursday 21st May we are holding a meeting straight after school (3:30pm) for any parents looking to become involved in running or being a part our PFA - Friends of Cogan from September.
The PFA plays a vital role in providing events and experiences for our pupils and it would be a great shame for the PFA to no longer exist. We are looking for a group of willing volunteers to continue the great work that is already happening.
Our current PFA will be in attendance and will give details on what commitment is required, the current model of the PFA and answer any further questions you may have.
Please register your interest for the event using this link:
Alderman Cogan's PFA: Friends of Cogan Thank you for your interest in potentially joining our PFA. This form is not a commitment, but an indicator of interest to attend the meeting.

Tomorrow we look forward to welcoming our Year 6 children into school at 8:15am via the front office to enjoy their pre-ordered breakfast before the SATs begin.
We understand that some children may naturally be feeling a little nervous. We want to reassure our brilliant pupils that they've worked incredibly hard and we are proud of every single one of them.
The SATs only measure a small part of their learning journey and do not define them or celebrate some of the amazing qualities they show us each day. Instead of thinking of the outcomes, we want the pupils to think about the journey they've been on since September, and how working hard towards a goal will help them as they grow up in the wider world.
Thank you to the parents and carers for their continued support in preparing the children for this upcoming week. We know that they will try their best and show an immense amount of resilience.
Thank you to the teachers, teaching assistants, midday staff and wider team who have all contributed to booster groups this year.
And a final thank you and good luck goes to the children - you're all brilliant to work with!
