We got a lovely late birthday present from Ofsted...

Official confirmation of the results from our most recent inspection. They have judged our Willerby setting as 'Strong in all areas'

This is an outstanding (🤭) achievement from our team, especially considering it was our first inspection, and we are so proud of them all.

The report highlights that children experience calm, welcoming and engaging days, helping them to feel safe, settle quickly and explore confidently.

It also acknowledged our staff, stating that they know our children extremely well and thoughtfully adapt activities and routines so every child can participate fully.

Finally, the report stated that ''children are confident, settled and deeply engaged, within a culture of kindness, emotional security and positive attitudes towards learning.''

August was a busy month for all of our teams, but they have all smashed it. Thank you to all of our Willerby team - you are all amazing practitioners and deserve this recognition! 💚

Our new Toddler Room at Anlaby is officially open!

This week we’re delighted to have opened our brand-new Toddler Room, giving our toddlers a dedicated space to play, explore and learn at their own pace.

The new room also includes access to a dedicated sensory room, as well as easier access to toilets and changing facilities. These new spaces will make a real difference to the children, providing them with an environment designed specifically to support their development, emotional regulation and growing independence, including when they begin toilet training.

The Toddler Garden is making great progress too, and we’re hoping to have it completed next week! It will include lots of exciting outdoor opportunities designed to encourage active play and help the toddlers develop their gross motor skills through running, skipping, jumping, and climbing. 🏃‍♀️💨

A huge thank you to all of our children and parents for bearing with us over the past 12 weeks during the work. We really appreciate your patience and support.

These improvements form part of our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible care and learning environment for every child. And this is just the beginning... we have big plans for all of the rooms at Anlaby, with each upgrade carefully designed to support children’s development, wellbeing and happiness.

Anlaby's Ofsted inspection results are in... and what a result!

We have been judged to be meeting 'Strong Standard' across all six areas of the inspection framework.

Importantly for us, the report describes our children as “happy, busy, curious and thriving”, achieving excellent outcomes and developing the confidence, independence and resilience they need for their next steps in life.

The report recognised that:

🌱 Children flourish in a calm, nurturing and positive environment
🌱 All children are supported to make excellent progress and participate fully, whatever their individual needs or starting points
🌱 Staff build learning into every part of the day, including play, mealtimes and everyday routines

We are so proud of this team and everything they do. They work so hard and are so passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes for all of our children. We are so pleased that Ofsted has seen and acknowledged that. Well done to all of you - you have all done amazing!!

REACH 4 THE STARS! 🚀

Today we’re celebrating our Willerby setting’s 4th birthday! We're nearly ready for big school now 🤭

We’re celebrating with a space-themed day filled with lots of exciting activities, and, of course, some birthday cake baking.

Since opening our doors in 2022, our aim has been to continue the great work that our Anlaby and Hull settings do, pushing for the best outcomes for children and to support people and parents in the local community. We are genuinely so proud of how far this setting has come and what they achieve every day (hopefully soon we can share with you what Ofsted thinks too).

A huge thank you to our wonderful children, families, and fantastic team members past and present for being part of our journey. You have all helped to shape us into what we are today.

We’ve got more news to celebrate at our Hull setting!!

Congratulations to Daisy and Jaz, who have both stepped into Senior Practitioner roles this month.

Daisy, who joined Springboard in 2023, will be joining our Preschool leadership team, while Jaz, who became part of our team in 2024, will be joining our Toddler leadership team.

Daisy and Jaz both started their Springboard journeys as apprentices, going on to achieve Distinctions in their Level 3 qualifications!!

Since then, they have continued to develop into confident, supportive and passionate practitioners. They are more than ready for this next challenge, and we hope you’re both really proud of yourselves (you should be).

Well done, Daisy and Jaz — you’ll be amazing! 👏💚

We have just had confirmation from Ofsted that we can share the results of our recent inspection!! 🥳

Our Hull setting was graded 'strong standard' for inclusion, and we achieved 'expected standard' in every other area of the inspection.

We are so proud of our team at Hull, especially Jess and Chloe, who stepped up as Manager and Deputy Manager just three months before the inspection.

We are particularly proud that our inclusive practice was seen as a strength. This is an area we are especially passionate about, so having it recognised by Ofsted is amazing!

Achieving the expected standard across all other areas also provides important recognition of the consistent care and education delivered by our team every day.

A huge thank you to every member of our Hull team for their hard work, care and commitment. You are all such dedicated practitioners and deserve all the positive feedback we received in the report.

Today we got confirmation that Ellie in our baby room has passed her Level 3 qualification as an Early Years Educator with…DISTINCTION! 🥳✨

Congratulations Ellie! We are so proud of you, and the amazing practitioner you are. Your hard work has paid off and we hope you’re proud of yourself!! 👏👏

Speak and sign training 🤟

Yesterday, our Willerby team welcomed our local SENDCo for some training in Makaton. The team learned why Makaton is important and how we can incorporate it into our daily routines.

The team has already begun putting their learning into practice — signing during group times, singing nursery rhymes with actions, and signing during mealtimes!

Makaton is a language programme that uses signs, symbols, and speech to support communication in early years. It can help to reduce frustration, build confidence, and support language development for young children.

By providing visual support, Makaton encourages social interaction, inclusivity, and emotional expression - giving every child a stronger voice.

World Book Day! 📚📖

We’ve had a fantastic week celebrating books and the joy of reading. The children and our team have been dressing up as their favourite characters, bringing much-loved stories to life throughout the week.

So far, we’ve fed The Very Hungry Caterpillar, dug for Superworms, baked Gruffalo crumble, created a Rainbow Fish in the water tray, and spent plenty of time reading stories, exploring tuff trays, and chatting about what we love most about our favourite books.

Reading in early years is incredibly important. It helps expand vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, and spark imagination. It also supports the development of literacy skills while nurturing children’s emotional, social, and brain development.

Thank you to all our parents for getting involved and helping make it such a fantastic week. And a big thank you to our staff for doing your commute in some very unusual outfits… 😄
