AI insights! 💻

Our year 12 students recently took part in an informative session on AI with our Senior Assistant Principal for Digital and Computing, Zaeem Basit.

AI can be a useful tool to support learning, helping students research topics, clarify difficult concepts and explore ideas, but it needs to be used carefully and responsibly.

The session aimed to strengthen students’ knowledge and understanding of AI to help them use digital tools safely both in and out of school. 👏

As well as preparing students for success in the workplace, we're also passionate about educating them on keeping safe and being responsible members of the community as they transition into adulthood. 💪

Our Year 12 students recently took part in a session about the signs of drink spiking and scam awareness to help them stay safe in new environments. 👏

The session was part of our wider Pol-Ed programme, which delivers engaging, age-appropriate education that equips young people with practical safety strategies, fosters resilience, and strengthens partnerships between schools, police, families, and wider communities.

Ideal Heating is one of the largest employers in Hull and a proud Major Partner of our school!

The business supports our careers information, advice and guidance programme and plays a role in our curriculum development. Several of our alumni have also secured apprenticeships with the business too! 🔧

💭Jason Speedy is the business's Chief Operations Officer and he's also a member of our Governing Board. Check out what he had to say! 🎤

Finding artistic inspiration in the world around us. 🌍

Our Foundation Art students enjoyed a wonderful day exploring the local countryside to spark ideas for their artwork. 🎨

They began the day in the historic village of Warter where they created observational drawings and Frottage within the church and its grounds, before venturing into the stunning Yorkshire Wolds for some "en plein air" landscape painting. 🖌️

This area is known to have influenced many of David Hockney’s works, which the students have been studying recently.

We're pleased to see more of our alumni starting their apprenticeship journeys with leading local businesses! 🎉

Eight of our alumni have secured apprenticeships with our Founding Partner Spencer Group and are beginning exciting careers in the engineering industry! 🔧

This year, 44% of 's apprentices are women, showcasing the company’s dedication to increasing female representation in the industry! 👏

📸 P.S How great are these promotional photos of the apprentices? They were taken by fellow Ron Dearing alum Kai Bulliment who is in the second year of his marketing apprenticeship with Spencer Group!
