📣 PTA Volunteers Needed – Let’s Make the School Disco Happen! 🪩✨

Hi everyone! 👋

Our PFA team is looking for a few more volunteers to help us keep school events going — starting with something the kids will LOVE… a school disco! 🕺💃

We already have a small group of amazing volunteers, but we are all working parents, and it’s becoming really difficult to organise events with the availability we have.

Even a little help makes a huge difference, whether you can:
✅ help set up
✅ supervise during the disco
✅ sell snacks
✅ or even help tidy up at the end

You don’t need to commit to lots — one-off helpers are hugely appreciated!

We really want to keep fun events like discos, raffles and fundraising going for the children… but without more volunteers, we may have to stop PFA activities altogether.

If you can spare even an hour, please comment below or message us — we’d be so grateful 💙

Thank you!

Breakfast with Santa - what a blast! 🎅🏻

We had the best time this morning with the children at breakfast. They were all so happy, polite, and well behaved - an absolute credit to their families and the school 💕

A huge shout out to the school staff and helpers who helped us, prep, plan, and organise in order to run this morning as smoothly as possible - thank you 🤩

We hope the children enjoyed the visit and their gifts 🎁

Next up, this afternoon’s carol concert and Christmas fair - see you there…!

One final reminder about today’s non-uniform day 👇💙

Good evening!

A reminder about Tuesday's non-uniform day, coinciding with Breakfast with Santa and the Christmas Fair after school.

These events are brilliant for the children but don't come without a lot of organisation and effort from our wonderful Friends of Cogan PFA!

We are asking for a suggested donation of £1 for the non-uniform day to allow the PFA to continue to provide events for the school.

It’s a busy day tomorrow…!

Along with Breakfast with Santa, we also have the Carol Concert and Christmas fair after school.

Our wonderful school choir will be singing Christmas songs on the playground 🎶

And along with stalls ran by our teachers, there will also be bouncy castles (£1 a go) and our PFA refreshment stand outside selling hotdogs (£3.50), hot chocolates with cream and marshmallows (£2.50), and doughnuts (50p).

We can’t wait to see you there joining in on the festivities 🎄

A huge THANK YOU from the PFA 💙💜❤🧡💛

Because of the amazing support and generosity we’ve received from families and friends of the school during the year, we have been able to fund Breakfast with Santa for a 3rd year! 🥰

Santa has made his list, checked it twice ✅✅, and every child at Alderman Cogan's has made it to on his nice list. Therefore, Santa and his elves will be making a special visit to the school tomorrow 🎅🏼

Each class will get to meet Santa and every child will receive a juice and small breakfast snack 🥐 and the all-important gift from the big guy himself! 🎁

A huge thank you to everyone that’s supported us over the past few months.

MERRY CHRISTMAS from your PFA team

💙💜❤🧡💛

As Santa has a lot of children to see in the morning, please ensure your child has breakfast as usual, as some might not get to meet him until later in the morning....we don't want grumbly hungry bellies.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s bauble bingo! 🌲

We hope the lucky winners like their prizes and everyone enjoyed their little treat.

Apologies for some of the rushed visits and to the class we couldn’t see (your prizes are with your teacher) - this was due to all the other exciting festive activities going on at school.

Don’t forget, next Tuesday we have breakfast with Santa, no -uniform day and the Christmas Carol Concert - we can’t wait to see you all again 🌲 🎅🏻 🎁

❗️HELP NEEDED ❗️

With Christmas around the corner, the Alderman Cogan's Church of England Primary Academy PFA are busy behind to scenes organising festive activities for the children during December 🎄

But we could really do with some help on a couple of things and wondered if any of you lovely lot might be able to pitch in…

☕️🌭🍩 Tuesday 16th December the school will be holding the Christmas Carol concert and Christmas fair after school. After the success of last year, we’ve been asked to organise a refreshments stand again serving up hot dogs, hot chocolates, and festive treats, but we’re in desperate need of help to set up the stand, serve customers and pack away….if you’re able to spare some time (even if you can’t help with it all) we’d be hugely appreciative…drop us a message below, or send us a message via messenger for more info!

🧸🚥🥰 You might have seen in the last newsletter, the PFA are in the process of setting up a new sensory room in the school - this room will be there for any child that’s having a hard time and needs somewhere to decompress and find some calm.
Though we’ve been able to buy lots of new things to kit out the room and to create a safe calming space, we are looking for donations if anyone has anything they no longer need:
💛 lights / sensory projectors
❤️ soft furnishings - cushions, blankets, rugs
💚 fidget toys / soft toys
💙 tipis / tents / sensory hide-aways
💜 wall art which promotes positivity
🤍 anything else you think a child might need that might help them find inner peace.

If you have anything that you feel would be suitable, please pop it into the office and we’ll add it to the room.

Please feel free to share this post in case there’s anyone you know that might be able to help 🙏

Many thanks 💙

The summer holidays are finally here ☀️

We know we’ve been a bit quiet lately, but we hope to be back in September with Pop-Ups, activities, and more!

In the meantime we wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support again this year - the school for allowing us to occasionally disrupt their day 🙈, and helping up organise events, our PFA helpers for their amazing suppirt and hard work🌟, and all the children and families of the school that have joined in the fun and help raise funds for activities and resources ❤️

Sending all our Year 6 children lots of love 💕💕 and wishing them all the very best on their next exciting adventures - we’ll miss them lots, but know they will all absolutely smash secondary school and beyond!

We hope everyone has an amazing summer break, and we look forward to seeing everyone in September.

💚💛🧡❤️🩷💜💙

Don’t forget that tomorrow is Monday Fun Day 🥳

Teachers have areanged some fab activities, and there will be an ice cream van 🍦(don’t forget to give your teachers £1).

The PFA have also organised some bouncy castles for the day - 6 of them 🤩! - an assault course, slide, penalty shoot out, and other standard castles.

Keeping everything crossed for a dry day 🤞🏻🤞🏻 or we’ll have to try and squeeze some of them into the hall instead….😬😬😬

Don’t forget children can come to school tomorrow in PE kits instead of full uniform. Though, Year 6 will need uniforms for their leavers service.

Anyone got any bright ideas on how to stop the rain?! 🙈
