The Hull Regency dancers are based in East Hull. No need to bring a costume or a partner, we are open to all backgrounds and experience.
We meet weekly to practice and perform Playford, country dances and cotillions from the Regency era and earlier. If you are a fan of Jane Austen, Regency themed films and television programs, history or dancing then this could be the place for you! Meet like-minded friendly people all learning together from the dance master (and each other) with the option, when you feel competent, to perform with

Just a few pictures of us from the Pearson Park Day of Dance which we attended on the 4th of July this year. It was rather warm, but luckily there was a bit of a breeze to sooth our brows!

It was a pleasure to perform in Cottingham for the residents (and staff!) of Magnolia House.
Friday the 10th of July will be the last Regency rehearsal before the summer break!
We will return ready for out heritage days performances in Hedon and at Charter House.
There will be no dancing on the evening of Friday 27th, due to a performance in the afternoon.

Here's a little snippet from one of our rehearsals, we're all very serious as we were concentrating so hard! Its a new dance for our program this year, ten points to the one who can name it!

Lighter nights mean that we get to see the reflections of the setting sun in the hall windows during rehearsals, which does mean that some of us are blinded on occasion depending on our position in the set!
Anyway, here are a dance group making Well Hall look particularly elegant - we're almost at this level! -

This is to be one of our new dances this year... 'Grimstock', as seen in the 1995 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
