✨ MEET YOUR TUTOR ✨ I haven’t done one of these for a while, but I have had a few more followers recently… and honestly, not a lot has changed 🙈 but I thought I’d give this a little update and share it with you all anyway 📚

Following on from last weeks short multiplication, this week we moved onto long multiplication!

Another superb effort from this learner - we made a couple of mistakes along the way, but this is exactly what I'm here for, to use these mistakes as learning opportunities 🌟.

So here I am… creating social media posts 📱, replying to enquiries 💬 and sending updates 📧 all whilst holding my little man 🥹💙

Busy? Always 😅

A HUGE thank you to all of my parents who are understanding of my limited availability at the moment - I'm still doing online tutoring, but at the minute, I've had to pause my in-person sessions until I am able to drive🚗.

Short Multiplication Week for this learner! A shorter session this week and a recap was all that was needed as they had literally started column multiplication in school today! We looked closely at what we do when we multiply a number by 0 too as this is a mistake so many children make!

This week, this online learner 💻 had previously struggled with using the column method for addition and subtraction ➕➖ and also remembering to start in the ones column, which was causing them to make mistakes. We started out by trying some without regrouping/borrowing and then moved onto regrouping/borrowing. They mentioned how they felt they struggled more with subtraction, so we focused more time on this before moving onto completing some word problems - brilliant effort & they left feeling so much more confident!🎉👏

Starter activities - ✨MATHS️✨️ - each session, I aim to start with basic skills, whether that be addition, subtraction, multiplication or division, it's all personalised to what the child needs!

Division using worded problems ➗️ - some children find it easy to look at a simple division question and know what method they need to use, but it's important they also see questions written in a worded problem. This session focused on putting their recently learnt bus stop method skill to good use! ✏️

Factor pairs & distributive law work for this learner!

Apostrophes for possession & ommission for this learner! Absolutely fantastic work and he went from "I never use them," to saying, "I'll be actually able to use them now and know where they go!" 🥳
