Wyke Rugby League are holding a Girls’ Open Training Session:

📅 Saturday 10th October
⏰ 11:30am – 12:45pm
📍 Bricknell Playing Fields, HU5 4LN
👧 Open to girls in school years 6–11

The session will give girls the opportunity to meet our coaches and players, try rugby league in a friendly and supportive environment, develop new skills, get active and hopefully make some new friends along the way.

At Hull Wyke, we are keen to continue growing opportunities for girls to take part in rugby league locally, and support from schools in helping us reach young people who may enjoy the sport is hugely appreciated.

Year 1 had a visit from the Brush Bus team. Abbie identified the importance of brushing teeth, exploring which foods caused cavities and how important regular visits to the dentist are. Some children even got to dress up as a dentist! 😁🦷

This week in 1KH, the children enjoyed a nature walk around the school grounds, using their senses to explore the world around them. They listened carefully to different sounds, looked closely at natural features, and discussed what they could smell and feel. Back in the classroom, the children took part in a science experiment where they investigated a variety of objects using their sense of smell, making predictions and describing the scents they experienced. They also developed their art skills by creating detailed self-portraits, learning about facial features and where they are correctly positioned on the face. The children showed great concentration and creativity throughout all of the activities.

Butterflies have enjoyed reading the story "Room on the Broom". They had an amazing time making their own potions in the classroom and creating our own version of the story!
