We are delighted that Hull City Council one of our members has established a Youth Enterprise Hub in Hull City Centre one of the key priorities in the our Youth Enterprise Strategy and Action Plan.
The Hub is called Elevate Hull @ Mark Jones MBE Centre based at 161 High Street thanks to a £2.2m investment by the UK Government.
It has the following facilities for aspiring young entrepreneurs aged 16-29 over three floors
A) Access to the premier youth enterprise programme Making Changes for Careers team and in turn mentors.
B) 13 various sized business units for rent at very competitive prices with new furniture.
C) Open plan networking area for young people to develop ideas with access to a kitchen and a quiet area.
D) Use of meeting and training rooms.
E) Podcast Studio.
F) Friendly and knowledgeable Youth Enterprise Advisors and Mentors.
G) Tenants will have an influence on centre development via an advisory committee.
H) Access to a mentor and key networking events and activities linked to THUDYorkshire

We are delighted to give advance notice that The John Cracknell Youth Enterprise Bank Yorkshire in Business, Invest East Yorkshire, Hull City Council, Making Changes for Careers, Engaging Education, Design / Technology and T Arran Photo are looking to bring back the Badgers Sett Enterprise Challenge with former BBC Apprentice finalist Ruth Badger.
The competition will be open to aspiring businesspeople in primary schools, secondary schools and colleges as well as aspiring young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 29 in Hull, the East Riding and Scarborough. Entrants can put forward an idea for a new business, co-operative or community project, or an enterprising school or college project.
Prizes for each category are:
Primary school section: up to £500
11 to 18 Secondary school / College section: up to £750
18 to 29 age range: up to £1,000
The winners of each section will than face each other in a run off in Global Entrepreneurship Week in Hull

They also learnt about the importance of Big 13 Enterprise Skills. .

Day Four of Global Entrepreneurship Network UK contribution to Global Entrepreneurship Week in Hull.
It saw young people from St Mary's College get the chance to win cash prizes for coming up with ideas for an event at Sewell Group Craven Park.
They also heard from Adam Corbally former BBC Apprentice contestant and from Ethan of Hammerhead sportswear and Mark of Inspire Interiors two young people who outlined their business journey since taking part in the Making Changes for Careers programme.

This morning Hull City Council hosted our £5 Blossom event with Cllr Cheryl Payne the Lord Mayor joining us as we launched Hull and East Riding Youth Enterprise Partnership contribution to Global Entrepreneurship Network UK amazing Global Entrepreneurship.Week.
The young people all left excited to take the £150 cash donated by the businesses back to the school to work on making it blossom and to learn about the Big 13 Enterprise Skills. We hope they raise lots of money for our charity Joy for Joel and their schools
We look forward to hearing more about what each of the 10 schools and businesses get up too
