Sunshine, smiles, and ice cream!

Our residents had a wonderful treat when Abbyo’s Ice Cream Van paid us a visit. There was plenty of excitement as everyone enjoyed a delicious ice cream in the sunshine. 😋🍨

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums and mother figures today. It is a privilege to care for so many amazing women.

We know this day can bring a mix of emotions, and our thoughts are with everyone for whom Mother’s Day is complicated.

To the families who have entrusted us with the care of their mums as they get older: we are grateful for the trust you place in us every day.

To those whose mums are living with dementia or memory loss: you may now carry the memories for both of you, but love doesn’t disappear when memories fade. It shows up in the visits, the laughter, the patience, the stories told again and again, and the quiet moments shared together.

And to the children and loved ones of our residents who are no longer with us. Your mums were deeply valued, and they will always remain part of our memories.

💛 Adopt a Grandparent UK 💛

We’re proud to be part of Adopt a Grandparent UK, a wonderful initiative that connects care home residents with friendly volunteers from across the country.

Through regular phone calls, video chats, or letters, volunteers build meaningful friendships with residents – sharing stories, laughter, and companionship. These connections can make a real difference, helping to reduce loneliness and giving our residents something special to look forward to.

We currently have weekly video calls between one of our residents at Priory and Arthur, a 15 year old boy who enjoys history, films and connecting with the older generation.
