This years festive family show at Pocklington Arts Centre is A Christmas Sparkle. Written by Elizabeth Godber, catch it from 11th to 24th December (relaxed performance is 13th December).
We love this theatre, it's not too big and makes a great venue for a first theatre trip or any visit with young children. We're going to review this one so look out for what we think!

In the fairy grotto everyone has a role and knows what they have to do: from the secretary fairies, to the tooth fairies, the Christmas tree fairies and even the famous Sugar Plum Fairy! Everyone that is, except for Sparkle… she doesn’t know what type of fairy she is! Join Sparkle, alongside best friend Fitz, as they search for the Sugar Plum Fairy and Sparkle’s true destiny.

A different type of holiday camp for the October half term holidays - Wave and Willow Woodland Activity Club.
Sessions are running daily 10am-2pm, 26th to 30th October for ages 4+ from Raywell Park Activity Centre.

Includes nature ID, den building, fun and games in the woods and hot chocolate and marshmallows around the campfire.
We popped along earlier this year to see the forest school and had a fantastic morning exploring the woods and making nature crafts, it's a beautiful relaxed setting and a lot of fun.

They also run weekly term time sessions -
💜Tuesdays: Under 5s session, 9.30-11.30am at Raywell.
💜Thursdays: Home education group, 12.30-2.30pm, for ages 5-16 years at the Botanical Gardens in Cottingham.
💜Fridays: Under 5s session, 10-11.30am at Raywell.

We’ve picked our pumpkins!! And we’re delighted with our selection 😍 🎃

We went to Butt Farm Pumpkin Patch, Beverley. Its free entry (suggested charitable donation for the air ambulance) and there are 1000's of pumpkins to choose from.

There are also sunflowers to pick and a beautiful field of wildflowers. Just £5 per jar, we came home with a lovely bunch.

Its a family run farm and the staff were really welcoming and helpful. Find it just next to Beverley Morrisons, super easy to get to now the new jocks lodge junction is open!

They're open Fridays to Mondays now then daily in half term. If you are looking for somewhere to pick your own pumpkins this year, I'd highly recommend Butt Farm.

This years pantomime at Bridlington Spa is Cinderella. Runs from Friday 12th December 2026 to 3rd January 2027, tickets are on sale now.
It's always a relaxed, fun panto and we often combine watching it with a winter walk on the promenade and some fish and chips 😀

One of our favourites Troy Harris is back as Muddles, we have seen him play this role before and he is fabulous!

This October half term at Hull Truck Theatre - A Great Halloween Adventure!

Great Adventures are lovely sessions aimed at 3-6 years, with arts and crafts followed by a show where you use what you have made. It's a bargain - just £7.50 per child with accompanying adult free.
Their Halloween Adventures run on 24th, 26th and 27th October with various times.

I've taken my little nephew to a few of these in the past and we love them, they're really relaxed, lots of fun and a great half term event.

Just 2 weeks to go until the Hull & East Riding Mumbler Baby Show! Sunday 18th October, 10am-1pm.

We're taking over the Mercure Hotel in Willerby with this FREE event for expecting parents and those with babies. There will be stalls, talks, demo's and taster sessions, plus healthcare professionals on hand for advice and a chat.

Today my daughter tried out the NEW children's netball coaching sessions with Pivotal Netball Academy in Willerby! And she absolutely loved it 😍

They're for all ages and abilities and the hours session focussed on skills, drills and fun. She likes playing netball in PE but isn't on a team, so this was a good was for her to just enjoy the sport without any pressure.
Coach Amy was great and she had 3 older children helpers too so they all got lots of training time, help and attention.

I've always played netball and I was really impressed with the session too. It's fantastic to now have a non-competitive, fun way for children to play netball locally.
There are spaces to join and first one is FREE so if you have a child who wants to try something new, drop Amy a line!

Weekend sessions run on both Saturdays and Sundays at Wolfreton School on the outdoor courts (indoor sports hall for bad weather but it was glorious outside today!).
💜Reception to Year 6 at 9am
💜Year 7 to Year 11 at 10am
