We’ve done these drawings for a new NHS Childrens Building to make it more friendly and welcoming. We’ve heard that people request to go to the hot air ballon room, which is lovely. ✏️ 🎨😁
My Pockets is an award winning arts organisation based in Hull and East Yorkshire. We have worked with Youth Music, Spirit of 2012, Hull 2017, BFI and the BBC.
We make films, music and art with people who have something to say but no way to say it. My Pockets is a production company lead by Peter Snelling. We work with people who have something important to say but no way to say it. The films, art and creative projects we make together give voice to powerful experiences that would otherwise go unheard.

We have been working with some school kids getting them drawing and think about playing. Here’s some of their work to cheer you up.
We met Adam when we we were at the Route One Young Carers Group and made this song with the brilliant Adam as part of our My Pockets Music Project supported by Youth Music. Adam was supported and encouraged by the equally brilliant Shane Mcmurray, our lead musician, who guided Adam in believing in his own voice and his own creativity.
We have made this song with young people from Marvel Youth Club in Hull. Everyone played instruments, wrote lyrics, recorded and shot the video with us. There was lots of messing about, lots of fun and we really love the song. Remember - DO YOUR OWN THING!!! The project is supported by the amazing Youth Music and Hull City Council

The launch of our Day One screen printing project in Sheffield has been amazing. Loads of people, loads of conversations and ideas. The project is about young people’s thoughts on climate change and it’s was wonderful to see such a powerful response.
The film has been nominated for an Into Film award and My Pockets and the young people are going to Leicester Square for a big ceremony. Keep your fingers crossed and if you would like to know more about the project and how to help please get in touch.
Once we completed the film the young people screened it to teachers, youth workers and council members at Hull Hall. Over 300 people attended and pledged to adopt the policy and share the film further.
The young people from Youth Aspire Connect in Hull who we made this film with have been meeting every two weeks for the past two years to trying to figure out how to fight racism. They have written a policy for schools, spoken at events and worked tirelessly. They are amazing.
'Just Ignore It' was created with young people from Youth Aspire Connect. We worked with the group to tell a story about their personal experiences of racism. Everything in the film happened to members of the group.
