Wishing Well Nursery situated on Endyke Lane in Cottingham opened in September 2002. The vision of Wishing Well is to provide and sustain quality childcare.
The nursery building is purpose built and was designed for the sole purpose of caring for and furthering the development of young children; the nursery can accommodate 49 children at any one time.

It is with mixed emotions that I announce that as of today, Friday 28th July 2023, Wishing Well Day Nursery becomes Blue Sky Day Nursery following my decision to sell the business and transfer the ownership to Blue Sky Day Nursery.
Owning Wishing Well Day Nursery for over 21 years has been extremely rewarding, seeing so many lovely young children develop and grow, whilst providing care for parents/carers. I count myself very fortunate to have met and worked with so many wonderful colleagues, customers, and suppliers during this time, I will miss you all.
Selling the nursery was a very difficult decision to make, but I am now at the time in my life where I want to take some time out with my family and see what the future holds.
The amazing team will stay the same and will continue to care for and provide the high level of care to the children attending the setting. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support to the business over the past 21 years, it has been an absolute privilege and I wish you all the very best for the future.

Wishing well is a wonderful setting with an amazing team and as such is great match to the other Blue Sky nurseries.

In babies today we have been exploring the frozen underwater seas; filled with ice/glaciers, snow and some animal friends. Some of our older babies have been learning and repeating new words, expanding on their ever growing vocabulary! With all babies enjoying the textures and sensations of the cold waters!

This week the toddlers have come together to make a big mural, we used our hands as paint brushes to explore the textures and colours. Mixing colours with our hands and smearing them onto the paper🌈

The pre school are having fun this morning making playdough. They talked about what they needed to make the playdough flour, water, oil, food colouring and salt. When the playdough was made they said they wanted to make buns.

To celebrate Driffield show, the toddler room have been digging up vegetables in the garden 🥕🥬🥔 we talked about what vegetables we found and what colour they were. We even learnt a few new words like asparagus and aubergine.

The pre school went on a road sign scavenger hunt. We saw lots of signs and marked them off on our boards. We got excited when we saw some builders mending the road and recognised the stop sign the man was holding. When he turned the sign around we all shouted ”go”. When we got back to nursery we had a go at drawing all the different things we saw on our walk.
We have been informed that both train lines are stuck down, traffic is horrific.
Please leave extra time for your journey to collect your child.

To follow our theme of the month, transport. Toddlers enjoyed exploring the car park, watching out for vehicles that drove past. They all got super excited when a big bus drove by, shouting at their key workers to have a look. We even had a little explore with the staff’s cars. 🚘🚍
