We recently welcomed Jacob to the PrimaryTech team for an action-packed week of work experience. From supporting our service team to working on AI development with Devin, and everything in between, he definitely got stuck in 🛠️

Here is what Jacob thought of his week with us:
"My week at Primary Tech was great and I learned a lot more than I thought. The best part was discovering AI and Claude Code, which showed me how tools and toolkits can be built to make tasks easier.

I also spent time shadowing the staff and watching them handle 'tickets’, which are requests from people who need help fixing their computer or software issues. It was really interesting to see how fast they solve problems. I also got to enrol laptops and iPads myself.

I enjoyed the whole experience a lot, and it definitely taught me a ton about how IT support works in the real world."

Using AI in the classroom? Let's keep it safe! 🤖🏫

AI can be a brilliant tool to speed up your lesson planning, but you have to know the rules of the road. Here are 4 simple rules we teach our clients at PrimaryTech:

1️⃣ The 80/20 Rule: Let AI do the heavy lifting with a rough draft, but you should *always* review and edit it before use!

2️⃣ Keep it anonymous: Never use personally identifiable info in prompts, ever. No exceptions.

3️⃣ Be completely open: Tell your class and colleagues when you are using AI and critique it together.

4️⃣ Stick to the curriculum: Base your prompts on actual lesson objectives so you get useful resources instead of generic fluff.
