Wold Academy, Hull, is part of the David Ross Education Trust and is a primary school for students aged 2 to 11 years.

F2 have had the most wonderful day at East Hull Community Farm. We enjoyed travelling on a double decer bus, taking part in a craft activity, handling the Guinea pigs, observing the animals and even feeding some of them. With it being so hot, we were lucky to have our packed lunches in the shade under a huge willow tree, followed by a delicious ice cream. Then we enjoyed a little bit of free play time. The farm had water trays, sand pits, chalk and a lovely, grassed area.
A huge thank you to the adults that kindly volunteered to come with us, we wouldn’t have been able to do it without you. Thank you to the PTFA for funding the bus. And a big well done to the boys and girls who did fantastic listening. Lots of lovely memories were made.

Our Year 6 residential was a fantastic success! The children had an amazing time taking part in a wide range of adventurous activities, challenging themselves, stepping outside their comfort zones and showing great determination throughout. They embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and resilience and should all be incredibly proud of what they achieved. (More photos to follow)

⚽🥁 Year 5 Visit to Sirius Academy West 🖥️📚
Year 5 had a 'Siriusly' interesting trip to Sirius Academy West and enjoyed a fantastic day of learning across a range of subjects!
🥁 Music: We explored Djembe drumming, creating our own rhythms before performing them together.
💻 Computing: Using Piskel, we designed our own 2D animations, bringing either a flag or a football goal to life.
🌍 Humanities: We learnt about the history of the World Cup and explored the geography involved in creating a successful bid to host the tournament.
✍️ English: We put our imaginations to work by writing detailed and descriptive setting descriptions.
📏 Maths: We became surveyors for the day, using trundle wheels to measure distances as we explored the school grounds.
It was a brilliant day filled with creativity, teamwork and hands-on learning. Well done, Year 5, for representing our school so brilliantly! 🌟

A parent kindly donated carpet tubes to F2, providing a rich, open-ended learning opportunity. The children explored the tubes in a variety of ways, demonstrating curiosity and creativity. Throughout the activity, the children showed excellent problem-solving skills as they tested ideas, adapted their approaches and collaborated with their peers.

At the summer fair on Wednesday we celebrated the return of the sound of steelpans to Wold after ten years. Well done everyone involved.

Welcome to FS2 spa!
We have been finding creative ways to stay cool in the heat including a cold foot spa with cucumber, mist bottle spray stations and a daily water drinking challenge. The boys and girls have coped really well! ☀️

Y3 had a great Sledmere trip! They found out lots about farming, crops, animals and caring for the planet as well as being treated to a deer safari!

Orienteering at Burton Constable on Monday 8th June. The children enjoyed 3 courses of orienteering running around the amazing, beautiful grounds of Burton Constable. The children at use their map reading skills to locate flags and scan them using digital devices to track their accuracy and time. Despite the heavy shower the children did amazing and were amazingly behaved and respectful throughout the full experience.

On Thursday 11th June, some members of the choir sang at the Music Cities Awards in conjunction with Choral Hull. This was a fantastic opportunity for the children, singing with lots of other children and adults and accompanied by Hull Brass Band. The children sounded amazing!

Class 3/4M enjoyed their World Cup afternoon wearing blue to represent their class team - Argentina. After picking countries from a hat the children spent time researching and presenting their findings. They also have their World Cup bunting up!
