Hull College Supported Internships and SEND

Well, it's the end of an era...9 and a half years ago I came to work for Hull College at the start of the Supported Internship Programme and today I leave. I will take with me a boat load of memories of all the fabulous people I've worked with along the way, I’ve made some amazing friends, met some great employers...
..and of course, I couldn't leave without saying a BIG thank you to all the students I've worked with over the years...you really have made each day worthwhile. It's been a pleasure to get to know you and see you flourish. You are all so uniquely brilliant and have the potential to do great things...never let anyone tell you otherwise and never stop being you! I will miss you all! 😭😭😭😭

At the end of 2021 we said goodbye to our brilliant Job Coach Simon Berry. Simon was a valuable part of the team, with his positive outlook, can-do attitude and a little bit of madness, he was a fantastic support to our students and staff. He will be greatly missed but we wish him all the best for the future! There is no doubt that he will continue to spread positive vibes and laughter wherever he goes!

After speaking to some of our students, it seems they had a really good trip to Flamingo Land and said thanks for taking them. My favourite ride - The Pirate Ship - Hero - one student said the bus ride there and back, so we guess a big thanks to Lords Coaches for her experience! So come on students, like this post and share your experience of a lovely day out, we would love to hear your stories.

We've been having fun completing online mock interviews with our students over the past few weeks to prepare them for the real world in current circumstances. I have to say, I've never been asked how I like my tea before in an interview but that would definitely win me over as an employer! 😆

Merry Christmas to all our students past and present, we have had a very hard year and it has been a testing time for all of us. This has been year that has meant we have had to do things a little different, making sure we have given you every opportunity possible to enjoy your learning; things like ZOOM lessons have been interesting and new to us all. However its now time to relax, with your families and enjoy your 2020 Christmas and New Year. We look forward to seeing you in class on the 11th Jan 2021. Here's to hoping for a great 2021.
