Pride Academy/Achievement Training and Skills Hull Pride Academy / Achievement Training and Skills (ATS) is an established training provider holding Gov funding contracts nationwide in our academies.

We run Hairdressing, Beauty, Barbering and Gas Engineering Apprenticeships. Pride Hairdressing Training Academy is run by a qualified hairdresser, employer and qualified lecturer/assessor with many years of educational experience at various establishments. Pride Hairdressing Academy is run within the same building as a Hull city town centre salon. We have our own dedicated areas in the 3 floor building. We are proud to boast, Training salons, classrooms, student areas, dining area, locker rooms etc over 3 floors. Pride Academy is a City & Guilds approved hairdressing academy. Pride Hairdressing Academy offers training on a smaller more exclusive and intimate basis (class sizes approx 5-8). This ensures each student achieves their maximum potential as tuition can be given on a more personal/individual basis. It also allows students to gain further/in-depth development in areas requiring more expertise – Experience which today’s employers expect. As well as learning techniques and skills to gain an NVQ level 2 and/or level 3 qualification we teach much more then to pass exams. As Pride Hairdressing Academy is run from a real working salon it enables students to gain additional skills and develop confidence on the shop floor so they are industry ready and competent, sooner. On their City & Guilds NVQ program Apprentices learn by experience in their salon and one day (day release) at Pride hairdressing Academy. At Pride Academy, students benefit from theory, practical and key skills lessons. These include practical demonstrations, guest speakers/presenters, assignments, assessments, on-line testing, activities, one-to-one tuition, individual learning plans, regular reviews and individual targeting etc and much more! Students must work a minimum of 30 hours per week (this includes one day at Pride training Academy). Students can expect to earn an apprentice wage. All students are visited regularly in their salons for reviews. Employers are regularly informed of their apprentices progress/attendance etc. The academy is in easy reach from the city and surrounding area. There are good bus routes, train services or ample car parking within the centre.

* 0° → Hair is left in its natural fall and cut without lifting. This creates maximum weight and a solid shape.
* 45° → Creates a graduation effect, keeping weight towards the bottom.
* 90° → Hair is lifted straight out from the head before cutting. This begins to create layering.
* 135° → A higher elevation, creating lighter layers and more movement.
* 180° → Hair is lifted straight up and cut, creating a strong, highly layered effect.

The different sections of the image show how elevation and sectioning relate to different areas of the head — including the top, sides, back and front.

The red lines indicate the elevation/cutting guide, while the blue lines show the sectioning and direction of the hair.

Apprenticeship training for young people under 25 is now fully funded! 🎉

As part of the Government’s ambition to create 50,000 new apprenticeships for young people, important changes have been introduced to apprenticeship funding.

This means **training costs for apprentices aged under 25 are fully funded**, helping more young people gain valuable skills, experience and qualifications to kick-start their careers.
